A guy called Rob on amigaworld.net reckons he has a Mediator HAL for MorphOS.

    He says

    Quote:

I don't know if it would work with this version, but I have a Mediator HAL for MorphOS. I don't have to hand though, it's on my A1200 about 20 miles from here.

    Is this true?

    Who has it?

    Can I have a copy please? :-D

I doubt it even exists :(

There are lots of mediators when compared to Grex. A bounty for the mediator support will be fine

How to support this board when you have no docs? Even a bounty won't help. If you want Mediator support ask Elbox.

I guess the author of OpenPCI could do it so why can't it be done again ?

He even made so that you wouldn't need the hw upgrade to use DMA.

Well, the Amiga3000/4000 models seem to be pretty similar to the Prometheus, these models even have Linux support, so I guess that supporting the big box versions won't be a problem.

I have a Prometheus too and I'm slightly surprised of it not being supported officially because all docs are available and Krashan knows it very well (it's a pity that he's too busy to add prometheus support)

    I did, their reply was.

If the 68k AmigaOS emulation is well done in this MOS version, the
Mediator and FastATA drivers should work.

If something does not work we will check were the problem lies.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

Well... if you're in contact with ELBOX, you could probably tell them that it seems that the FastATA driver dies when trying to patch MorphOS' scsi.device. MorphOS has a native scsi.device so their patching code is most likely not compatible with it.

i think i have mediator hal, from the old days when 0.4 was the only
one available, i think cisc dcc'ed it to me to test if it worked or something.

I have no idea if its ok to share this hal, and i dont even know if its
the real one, but atleast i have 2 hal's in the morphos dir
    hal.rom is 28982 bytes and from 10.03.2001
    hal.rom_ is 29003 bytes and from 14.02.2001

Have you tried it with MOS1.4.5 and a Mediator?

    Does it work?

nope, i used morphos 0.4 with a1200/ppc/mediator and i think it
worked, and since its just this hal file, i guess it should work on
    newer morphos too

    Here is Elbox supports reply:-

    We will check what happens.

Frankly speaking I thought that MOS Team has the native FastATA drivers
ready since long time. Someone from the them contacted us and received
all FastATA developer docs few years ago.
