    Thank you for the understanding but AmigaOS 3.9 BB2 works really fast on my A1200. Also, I can listen mp3s in 14bit sound (with the use of the internal PPC chip - to blizzard PPC/040). As BVision needs to go to a tower case, it could be a good idea if someone could build a Graphic Card that fits on Amiga's 1200 Original Case. As I know, today's not hi-end graphic cards such NVIDIA 5200 AGP or PCI (seen on Sun Sprac and Macintoshes) have not a size much bigger than BVISION. So, you will be able to run morphos at 32 bit color in 1600*1200 ...etc. And if it's price could be reasonable, then a lot of Amiga users like me, could bought it. Also, a special deal, every Amiga user with PPC accelerator could bought a new Pro Morphos Edition bundle with this Graphic Card. Sorry If you think that I must be dreaming! Just say ...

    :-D ask BPlan et DCE to realise it. They can, but they need money ! Just ask them !!

    But also remind that the performance of the BPPC is about 20-25 MB/s with a 60 Mhz quartz.

    You can also give money for a AGA and orginal customs chips supports :-D

    It's up to you.

    In the lastest news I heard about OS4 CPPC, it's using a lot of emulation, and the AGA output was NOT working too.
    Keep the Faith !

    Maybe one day a G4 AmigaONE when they will be debugged and without April...

    Hello,
    can anyone say in some words what basically is the problem why legacy applications (games, demos etc) relying on the custom-chipset doesnt run on MorphOS_PUP?
    As far as i see it, it mainly because mos_pup doesnt provide bitplane screenmodes (like PAL:HighRes etc). Is that right and/or is there anything else?

    Regards,

    They did it's called a BVision. :-) What makes you think it can't be placed in the original case? I've posted pics of this for years now.

    A1200 603e+ (060 50mhz, ppc 160Mhz with scsi), 128M fastram, Bvision PPC graphic card 20G 2.5 inch HD The pcmcia modem shown there was replaced with an ethernet card. There is a small heatsink on the permedia chip and a fan blowing air up thru a hole in the trapdoor.

    I'm not alone in this another member of my Amiga usergroup had a faster ppc and a delfina DSP board in his as well.

    Well... legacy applications that control the display on their own could theoreticly work. Normal os-friendly applications won't be able to open a screen on AGA though due to lack of support for it in the OS.

    What I want on my side is an AGA emulation or all the needed chipsets to run Amiga Demos and games on pegasos ... under Morphos like the JIT for example ... just an interpretor ... that convert instructions to other instructions comprehensible by pegasos hardware ... Do you think it's possible ... :-?

    @ludom25

    It is easier to do it other way around: implement PPC JIT into UAE.

    Advantages:
    - ability to choose which chipset to emulate (OCS/ECS/AGA)
    - ability to choose which AmigaOS version to use (1.x/2.x/3.x)
    - ability to run many HW banging software at same time without interfering with IRC etc.

    Adding AGA emulation to MorphOS would just turn the OS into an UAE clone but with less options.

    Especially those old games and demos try to take over the machine but it is no longer possible.
    1 + 1 = 3 with very large values of 1

    Oh come on! I really hope you're joking now. AGA is a slow piece of junk that was completly outdated even before 1st A4k/A1k2 were available.

    Yes, that's true... sad but true :)

    @Itix (about JIT):

    Drawbacks:
    -JIT doesn't give constant speed (it appears to be a problem for scrolling games :))

    But I agree that UAE is the best way to go... And if Ambient could properly support mimetypes, running a game would be a matter of rightclicking on an ADF and choosing "Run as A500", "Run as A1200" or whatever... We "just" need a more polished UAE.

    @Fuvert: sure, but you won't make it work without adding fans,... Remember that not all Amiga (PPC) users are able to do that.

    @Ludom: I'm afraid today gfx cards and legacy AGA are too different to think a simple translator would be enough to do the job :)

    Leo.
    Nothing hurts a project more than developers not taking the time to let their community know what is going on.
