Would it help if we set up a bounty to get the pup reg servers up again? If only for 6-12 months so that ppl who missed the chance in the past (like me) may register? What do you think?

I know the server issue has been discussed to death before, I just thought that setting up a bounty might help motivate someone from the team to get it up and running for us without a valid key who wish to buy it and finally get the full morphos pup treat!

There was a PayPal button on the PowerUP website. We stressed many times that any future support for that version depends entirely on donations. Since less than 10 percent of people that registered decided to donate anything, we felt there is no point in continuing the service. It's a bit too late now... if there were more donations, 2.1 or 2.2 could have been released. That's not really something I'm motivated to do anymore though.

you mean if a bounty of , I don't know, say 1000-1500 euros (or name the amount) was completed, it wouldn't be enough to motivate you just to get the registration server up? I'm not talking about a new version (which would be great, but obviously impossible right now), just the possibility to register good old 1.4.5. What do you think? Would you consider it?

Vulture: would you find so many ppl to get that amount which you just mentioned? I don't think so. I think is better and cheaper to get a machine supporting a new MorphOS 2.x.

MorphOS is annoyingly slow on CSPPC anyways, why don't you buy OS4.0 instead? :-D

Sorry but I don't believe you would be able to raise a similar amount of money.

I guess it would be nice to have MorphOS (any version) running on my A4000 w/CSPPC 233MHz, but I can't really see much point to it since the cost to obtain a PPC Mac which will run MorphOS many times faster can be as low as $0.00 if you are lucky, to well less than $100 US dollars if you have some patience to look around for a 1.25GHz G4 eMac, or one of the many models of soon to be supported G4 PowerMacs.

I have two peg2s happily running latest 2.5, that's not the point. That's me (and I believe others too) wanting to use their classic (frankensteined) miggy to the full. I strongly believe that a bounty of 1000 euros could be reached for this purpose, but I obviously need someone willing to undertake the task of getting the servers up again for that money once the money are in. So jacadcaps, please tell me what you're thinking. Would you do it if I could make it? Thx for your replies so far :)
