It seems this is the way to go for audio, so if anyone has a soundblaster live that'll fit in a G4 MDD power mac, I'd love to take it off your hands for a reasonable price.

    runequester,

You specifically need a SoundBlaster Live! (with emu10kx chip). Be careful not to get one pulled from a Dell even if it has that exact chip part number as it is a totally different card. The dell part will usually be labeled Dell somewhere, but not necessarily always. The dell card will NOT work.

Ebay has some for 10Euro or less (just search for "emu10k"). And yes "PC"-cards will work as these have no x86 or PPC ROM to start with (and even if they had one it would most probraly be ignored by MorphOS).

As long as it is not a Dell pull.

I have a spare one. salvaged it from an old pc and tested it in my powermac. But since I already have one it's unused.

okay, the one I got turns out to probably be the wrong chip, so if either of you have one you know works, I'd love to take it. Shoot me an email at runequester@gmail.com and we can sort out details

Certainly not a stupid question. I lost a couple dollars in my quest for a SB Live due to Dell. The dell part has a chip with that part number but is not compatible.

I think it's a slightly different part number.
