Well I guess the process isn't automated at all. Will I have to wait days?

I wonder how many sales they miss due to people wanting to impulse buy, only to get buyers remorse while waiting? As great as MorphOS is, the registration system and user agreement is very poor.

AFAIK it's not fully automated. Relax mate, you can wait a day.

Yes I can wait a day, that was a joke about 40 seconds being too long. I just call a spade a spade and my only complaint about MorphOS is the registration process and details.

The validation indeed requires human intervention. You'll likely get it by tomorrow morning in any case.

    Fab,

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it. I hope I can get fully paid registered in the next 2 days as I have a long holiday weekend :-D

Actually, i can see you haven't confirmed the registration yet. Assuming your mail is valid (and not blacklisted or whatever), you should have received an automated mail with a link to validate the registration, and after that you'll receive payment details. Without validation (nor payment) there's little hope you would receive your keyfile. :)

Just in case, check your spam folder or so.

My email address is valid and I have not received an email. There is nothing in the spam folder either.

If needed, I will try again from a different email.

I just tried again using another email address. I received an immediate response to this other email address, but only to tell me I am already registered.

Still nothing to the first email account.

I can confirm that there are problems with the emails coming back from some of the MorphOS Developers AND from the registration server.

I was not able to receive recent registration emails sent from the server and from some of the MorphOS developers to my Earthlink dot net email address and had to request that they send the registration email to a different email account (use a gmail account and it worked with no problems).

I even went to Earthlink and removed every blocked email address in the junk mail, or spam mail folder that had been put there by the spam filtering program of Earthlink, but it appears that I still cannot receive emails from some of the MorphOS Development Team members.

So, Red, don't blame the MorphOS developers for not responding. I am willing to bet you are having the same problem that I had in October and you might need to use an alternate email address to complete your registration process. I think they received your email that is sent through the RegTool process from MorphOS and that you simply did not receive the return email asking for you to pay for the registration keyfile. That is why when you sent the registration again and asked for a reply to a different email address, you got a reply that you were already registered and Fab said that your registration was not complete.

Since you have already used the RegTool with the email address that seems not to be working, I suggest you contact the MorphOS Development Team and ask them to replace the non-working email address in their registration database with the new email address you say that you got a quick reply from and have them send the registration email again to this working email address.

    amigadave,

I can also confirm the first email address you used (earthlink or so) is known to have problems with several other smtp servers, so it's no wonder you never got reply there.

    XDelusion,

Yes! I've got to strike while the iron is hot, before yet another bill comes in ;-)

I received the email to my 2nd (gmail) account, responded and paid. I look forward to getting my keyfile.

So for the record my first and primary email is from a Bellsouth.net account. Is the MOS email server in Germany? I have used this email address for ~13 years and only 1 person had difficulty with my email. Starting about 3 years ago Jens Schoenfeld could not get emails from that account.

I'm sure they'll get it worked out, sorry about your woes.

I lucked out when I registered...

Someone across seas happened to be awake and registered me instantly.

    @Red,

Glad you got it worked out. I don't think they had a problem receiving your messages, but with your first email address, you could not receive the reply from the MorphOS registration server email account.

@Fab, I have used the same email address through Earthlink for over 20 years and this is the first time I have ever had a problem with receiving messages from anyone that I know of.

Unless this is a recent development with Earthlink, I am wondering if it is a problem receiving messages from certain people, or certain countries? The messages don't bounce back to the sender and they do not show up in my spam folder. They just don't get delivered to me and no notification is sent to either the sender or myself that a problem has occurred.

I know that Piru can't send me messages to that account and I think that you had problems sending me messages as well, plus the registration messages would not get delivered, until we switched to my gmail account. This was not a problem when I registered my G4 PowerMac about 15 to 18 months ago, so something must have changed at Earthlink, or somewhere else along the path between Earthlink and you and Piru.

As I said, I cleaned out every address and domain from my blocked senders folder at the Earthlink site, but I believe that the problem still persists. I will contact Earthlink support to see if they can resolve the problem, but since Redrumloa had the same problem and he does not use Earthlink, the problem must reside elsewhere.

Is the US government trying to protect Red and myself from the subversive teachings of yourself and Piru? (Ha Ha Ha!)

Redrumloa, very cool. I guess that means there's 1282 registrees now. You've been on the Amiga scene for a while. Now that you've chosen the blue pill, how do you like it?

No, it means 1282 registered machines, not registrees. There's no way to tell how much registrees there are, except for the fact that it must be less than the number of registered machines.

1282 registered machines and probably many more that are unregistered.
    Not bad.
I wonder how many copies of AOS4.X have been sold and how many AROS users there are.

Yes, I like it very much. To be honest, this is not my first time using MorphOS. Back in 2003-2005 I owned a Pegasos with MorphOS 1.4.

MorphOS 2.7 on my Quicksilver is quite impressive to a former Commodore Amiga user. You could say I like the blue pill :-D I can seem myself doing a bulk of my every day computing on it. I am looking forward to MorphOS 3.0 and I hope the platform builds some momentum gaining users.

I am making a comeback too after a few years without Pegasos2. Will hopefully get a Macmini next week, and will register when MOS3 is released. Oh happy days ahead!
