    Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about moving in the near future and don't want to take everything I now own with me to the new place, so I've decided to sell most of my Amiga and MorphOS hardware, to make the move easier.

I have two Dual 2.7GHz G5 PowerMac's to sell. At least one or both of them have MorphOS licences, I'll have to check, as well as making sure exactly which video card is in each of them, and the amount of RAM and HDD size. I also have one Dual 2.5GHz G5 PowerMac which has a motherboard fault which only allows one of the two perfectly working G5 CPU's to work, even if I switch the G5 CPU's from one socket to the other, so I know that both CPU's work, just not at the same time, but it's perfect for running MorphOS. No MorphOS license, and as with the 2.7GHz G5's, I'll have to open it up to verify the amount of RAM and HDD, etc.

I also have a Dual 1.42GHz G4 PowerMac, which I have modified by replacing the Dual G4 CPU module with a Single 1.25GHz G4 module that is over-clocked to 1.5GHz. Again, I'll open it up to verify how much RAM it has, which video card, and the sizes of it's multiple HDD's.

I have a silent upgrade 1.5GHz G4 MacMini, with maxed out RAM, but it's wifi antennae is damaged.

If I can still find it, I also have an Efika system.

Other than the Efika or the MacMini, the tower systems are too big and heavy to be shipped outside of the USA. The faulty Dual 2.5GHz G5 PowerMac is free to anyone who wants to pick it up, or pay for the shipping to have me send it to them. Everything else, just make me a reasonable offer, and I'll most likely accept it.

I'll update this post with the info about video cards, RAM amounts & HDD sizes, as soon as I have the time to check each system.

Nothing wrong with downsizing. Do you still plan to attend Amiwest? Perhaps this would be a good event to try to find new homes for your hardware.

Yes, I'd like to attend AmiWest this year, and I'll definitely take a bunch of my gear there to offer it up for sale, but most people who attend are in the same boat as me, looking to down size their collections of Amiga gear, and even less of them are interested in MorphOS systems.

Less than most might still be many ;-)

    Hello Dave,

Talk about perfect timing! My poor powermac has been having issues one after the next and I stopped using MOS as my daily driver.

I would be interested in a 2.7, assuming the liquid system has been updated and is running well.

Let me know the cards at some point, I don't think my 1950 Pro will be transferable.

PM the cost and any other details.

    Thanks!

I replied to your PM before seeing this post on the forums. The most important question is where do you live, as I'm only willing to ship within the continental USA (maybe Canada). I don't know what model of PowerMac you currently have, but as long as it is not the Quad G5 model, which uses PCIe video cards instead of AGP, your 1950 Pro should work fine in my Dual 2.7GHz G5 PowerMac.

If it is a PCIe video card, we can negotiate a price that includes one of the AGP video cards that I have.

Check your PM here for my reply.

Have you watched the live streams of the event? Less than most means about 2 or 3 attendees "might" be interested in adding another system to their collection, specially a MorphOS system. The typical attendance is between 30 to 50 people, usually being closer to the lower number. In years past, I have taken huge amounts of gear and systems to AmiWest to promote MorphOS, and to try to sell stuff to thin my collection, and have always brought back home almost all of it, plus what ever I bought new from the other vendors. Everyone who goes to AmiWest has all the Amiga gear they want already, for the most part, and there are more people trying to sell their gear than there are people buying gear and systems. Even Matthew of AmigaKit only brings a fraction of what he used to bring to the shows, because of the low attendance and knowing that most attendees already have all the gear they need/want.

I hope I'm proved wrong this year, and we will have a record number of attendees, because everyone is wanting to get out of their house, after being kept at home for over a year due to COVID-19. It's great that AmiWest is still sponsored and the organizers do such a great job of putting on the show each year.

There are more PCIe-based G5 PowerMacs than the "Quad G5".

Even if assuming just 30, less than most can mean up to 15 people :-)
No offense, I'm just trying to be funny with language and set theory, seeing as what you really meant to say is "less than [the complementary set of [most]]" :-)
(Or put another way: "only few people who attend aren't [...] looking to down size their collections of Amiga gear, and even less of them are interested in MorphOS systems")
