My wife, is permanently disabled. Her disability is refractory clusters of tonic seizures. She also has complex partial seizures with intractable epilepsy. Due to her medical conditions getting worse I am seeing what the value of a peg 2 is worth anymore.

In past things been tough ive almost parted with it, but well some reason buyer has always fallen out and stuff gets a little better. As well I love owning it, but really have not had room to use it in over 5+ years.

So I am wondering what is the value of one of these perg2 MB 1ghz in excellent condition. I dont have the new OS .

Please let me know as I am not going to bother putting it up if its not worth anything anymore.

    Hi Zephar!
I'm really sorry to read this story and I have no words....
Since Pegasos 2 are able to run AmigaOS 4.1 as well as MorphOS and is in excellent condition (and according to your machine configuration), maybe 600/700 $ should be ok. But this is only my personal opinion! I don't really know wich is real value/price of this nice piece of hardware.
You could try to sell it on Amibay (www.amibay.com) too. Maybe there is a Amiga users which needs a ppc machine to enjoy AOS or want to give an eye to MorphOS too.
I wish your wife and you all the best!!

Thanks for the fast reply, I never knew about Amibay. I have a bunch of manuals for Amiga, Atari that I don't want to have to throw away, but I have to make room. I will try putting all those up their first to test the waters.

I would say that it's worth 300-400$, and 500-550$ if it would include a copy of AmigaOS 4,1 (or a registered copy of MorphOS). The problem is that you apparently can't buy 4.1 any more for the Peg2, and that will lower the price.

Maybe you can sell it for 600$, but I have a feeling it's over optimistic.

I was thinking between 400low and 500high. I am not quite sure ebay or this Amibay would be the best route. I have alot of games manuals etc etc I plan to put up on Amibay.

Amibay is the absolute worst option if you want fair market value. The whole reason Amibay exists is to shame people into selling at artificially low prices. Avoid Amibay at all costs IMO.

I hate what Ebay has become, but it is still hands down the best place to sell something like this. Considering the Pegasos 2 runs OS4 and is faster than anything that runs OS4 short of the $3,000 X1000, you should be able to get a good price. It has been a long time since I've seen one sold, but I'd say the guess of $600-$700 would probably be the floor with a possible higher ceiling.

My vote is to post it on Ebay for the most profit. In this case it's not giving it up for next to nothing to another user, but because now is the time you want to see the most money out of it.

Put it on ebay and you'll get the most money for it.

If I wasn't skint and in exactly the same type of situation you are in I'd buy it myself.

I just thank God we have free healthcare in the UK (for the most-part anyway, one drug my wife needs is 400GBP per prescription so she goes without it.)

I hope your wife is given some relief from her suffering soon.

I appreciate every ones input and of course appreciate anymore. My goals are after I get back from Standford Hospital on Wednesday (routine visit with her neurologist.(300 mile round trip :P ) ). I will double check to make sure it is all still working. (No reason it should not, but it has been sitting for several years now.) IF so I would appreciate any advice on the listing of it and any sites I should let it be known its up on ebay and that.

    Thanks again

To people concern and I thank you for your concerns. Currently I just have to be realistic on things and sell everything I can. This may sound funny as I am an amiga & heck an Atari nerd growing up. I feel i need to give a reason to sell this machine as well I really liked acquiring it and still try to justify what I can do. I love the purchase I made, but right now I gotta take care of things.

Pegasos II system (incl. case, HDD, graphics card etc.) without any OS license was sold for 450 USD on eBay yesterday.

The best thing is, you can spend fraction of the money you get for the sale to buy a faster PowerMac, that will run MorphOS better than your Pegasos 2 ever could!

However, given your story, I understand that you have much more important things to worry about, and might not have much time to dedicate to it...

Put it on eBay and advertise it on all of the AmigaOS4.x related forums and you will likely get the best price for it. MorphOS3.x users have faster and cheaper options, but the options for AmigaOS4.x users are not available at such low prices, or widespread availability as a used PPC Mac computer. Also, for all of your other computer, or Amiga related games, manuals, etc., eBay will get you the most money.

Sorry to hear about your wife and good luck with your sale.

Thanks for the replies guys, I got in a bad car accident on top of everything else. As soon as I work out getting my work van operational I will be placing an auction up on ebay for the peg 2. Could not believe it my wives and my 14 anniversary is in 2 days away right now and having this happen a week from it was not nice at all =(.

I thank you for all your input =).

Actually that was his mirror that hit the window. (truck with mirrors sticking out far.

Further relook at the picture the damage is clearly indented in not out.

I hit my head like that no way would I be typing right now lol.

    Edit

Will add you can clearly see from the impact the lines of the mirror plastic scraping across the metal to the right of the window.

Appreciate you concern though, to my knowledge everyone was physically ok.
