I have an OKI B4350 that works both in PS mode as well as directly via TurboPrint (using some HPLaserJet6 series driver).

    question:
    which printer should I choose?
do I need to choose a non-postscript laserjet?
the cp1025nw is a raster printer.

do I need your beta printing system to even do any of this?
i am running mos 3.7 and using the TP interface with netprinter at this point.

I have gone back through this discussion and found the links to the beta printer system.
I will give it a try.
Should have read the whole thread before asking too many questions.

Seems that you print to the PRINTER: assign.

    6. There are many PPD files available, PPD for postscript printers should work without problems,
ppd files for samsung printers are included in the archive. PPD for foomatic drivers won't work.

This is from the readme Zukow.
    Very discouraging.
My PPD is setup for foomatic.
You can find a copy of my PPD in the foo2zjs archive on aminet.
You sure it will still work and run foo2zjs?

Brother printers tend to use the HP PCL language so should already work.

If yours has PCL then just select a similar HP Laserjet printer and test it.

Device in Pagestream's device option needs to be "USBPAR:" not netprinter.device or anything else, as it uses the PRINTER device in Devs that you should have copied to the Devs folder - the one in the MOSSYS:Devs or MorphOS folder in the SYS: or SYSTEM: device.

This Beta printing package by Zukow is one of the ONLY times that you should/need to copy a DEVS: file into the MOSSYS: folders as in the main this folder has to be left unmodified or there is always a likelihood of some major disaster taking place in your MorphOS booting process. You do need to copy the other relevant files, such as the printer-handler in the Zukow archive, and others, into the MOSSYS: folders - contrary to normal protocol - as these files need to be found there for them to work as intended. Putting them in the standard System: folder will not get the Beta Printing system of Zukow working otherwise.

I am not using usb. This is a network printer. The usb port on the printer is broken.
    I pointed pagestream to printer:

Ok, i analyzed this port and it seems that it is foomatic based filter so to print using my printing system it needs also foomatic-rip binary somewhere in the path. The foomatic port wasn't done so it doesn't work. As i said earlier i;ll return to printig system after morphos 3.8 release so i probably port foomatic also.

Can ghostscript 8.70 for MOS handle the bitcmyk device?

The instructions I am finding is to convert my .ps file into either bitcmyk or pksmraw and pipe it to foo2zjs which will then save is it as a zenographics color file.

The color file would need to be copied to the printer.
Using the old TurboPrint system which device will leave the file unchanged?
I don't want it modified in any way. Just a raw copy, like this:

    >copy april.zc PRT:
    Powerbook G4 1.67ghz 2GB, ATI 9700M Pro 128mb

It's a bit old but I have some questions to it:

"MorphOS already comes with all stuff needed to create/read PDF files "

which stuff is this to create PDF files?

"But since NetStack/drivers do not support MultiCast, this is currently impossible anyway. MultiCast requires more work to implement, so it won´t be there soonish."

Is this still the case or has it changed since https://morph.zone/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?forum=32&topic_id=9037&post_id=98641&viewmode=flat&sortorder=0&showonepost=1?

Thanks Zukow for updating Ghostscript v8.70 though I rarley use it now, seeing as I have managed to work out/fix myself the "Printers" system to work with my HP 2500 Colour LaserJet PostScript printer using the USBPAR: device that you implemented in the Beta "Printers" system, but forgot to add into the v3.10 release of "Printers".

    Can I take it that:

    1. The USBPAR: or an improved USB printing device will be offered with v3.11+?
    2. The Compatible Printers list for MorphOS will be updated with my printer, so other users can know it is compatible?
    3. Other printers that users use with MorphOS of whatever make/model will also be updated onto the compatibility list for all to benefit from. ;-)

As the printers list is basically the oldest, most out of date, hardware related information that is in the MorphOS library and offered as being compatible. Though where you would acquire such old printers from, outside of a museum, is baffling. :-?

The MorphOS Library is a community-managed resource. Please feel free to add uptodate information regarding new printers that are known to work with MorphOS.
