Google Docs in my opinion is not really an alternative.

I'd prefer native over porting, but something i nthe spirit of abiword would be good:

Can import open/libreoffice and ms office documents, export to pdf, runs light, proper mui of course.

Scriba is promising but simple, and final writer is great... if you don't intend to interact with the rest of the world.
