    Hi

As probably some of you knows, Davy Wentzler will be porting Audio Evolution 4 to AROS. The requirement of that port is minimum 45 orders for 49e each copy.

I asked Davy and he said that there would be no problem with porting Audio Evolution 4 over to MorphOS. I presume (he didn't confirm), requirements will be similar.

The only thing is that he has no MorphOS capable machine, but I can organise myself some mac mini for him.

The question is - would we have that 45 people interested?

I would certainly be interested in using AE4 for sure. Doesn't look like AROS is quite there yet either. At last glance it was at 15 purchasers.

Is there already a useful prog. like this for MorphOS that I am missing? I need an Audacity-like editor.

It would be cool, but I doubt 45 ppl will pre pay... especially when the SuperBundle had a nice audio app buggy, but good AE would be cool though..

@ Debaser: had you get an eye here HD Rec ?
This program is similar, though it needs camd.library for MorphOS (replacement.. but semms to be impossible to find...).
I tried with camd.library 68k.. It seems to work for a while than freezes...

I would buy 2 or 3 licences, I really would need an professionnnal audio editing solution, something like PSA was!

I just got in touch with Davy himself.

He would consider lowering the amount of minimum licences meaby to 35 when we will organise him some MorphOS capable machine.

I can buy mac mini myself, not a bother for me. I will kindly ask MorphOS Team is there any chance of getting a free licence for Davy, if not - meaby we can make a little bounty for the licence.

After that getting 35 licences of AE4 should be easy :)

Oh i forgot to mention, after asking for the 5th version of Audio Evolution i got the response:

    Quote:

A port of AE5 requires at least a port of wxWidgets to MOS. Someone is doing a port for OS4, but he's just finishing the basic parts without gui or gfx.

Hmm, SoundFX is a great software for audio editing with lots of advanced features. It runs on MorphOS, but not that stable and has some display faults due to emulation.
A native port and a GUI refreshment (MUI) would result in a great piece of software with AMIGA-tradition for our system!
It is some time since there was activity with SoundFX by the author Stefan Kost.
Wonder if he could be brought back to action by polls, bounties or sponsoring a development system...

Downloaded and tested the last version: not usable... Unless I forgot something to install (but I don't think so) or to set, this version is unusable. I will go on testing, hoping I'm wrong..

I would consider a purchase, too. Am using PSA, but while powerful it actually has some flaws. An alternative would be welcome.

Yes an alternative to PSA would be very welcome as PSA has quite some problems, they often become "visible" only when working long sessions with it... I assume though that Audio Evolution 5 will use MUI and will be correctly working on MorphOS not something hybrid like Pixel32 was!

@RMS: not 'will' but 'shall' use MUI :-D
But as the code is designed for wxWidgets, not an easy task to translate to MUI.

(I got some pb to do it for Phatch, wxWidgets code has not a good design, most programmer use modal design than events driven with wx... very bad).
    And now... next project!

    Hi all,

I have just registered here. Nice to see there are already more people willing to buy AE4 than AROS in such a short time!

I'm located in The Netherlands if you want to send me anything! :-)
Anyway, still more than 10 copies to go.

Since I'm not a MOS user, can someone tell me how good the compatibility is with the AmigaOS3 API? Is there a popupmenu library and CAMD library?
