After getting very sick of not knowing what nick to use for posting bounties, I've changed each of the buttons to include a "username/notes" field. This should make it easier to correctly associate a user with his/her donation.

Have added links to the documentation from the main bounty page (see bottom).

Have began work on the admin menu. There is still much work to be done in this regard. Have added a redirect directory so that typos (mine and those of others, will still get everyone to the right place) https://morph.zone/bounty/

Have been discussing some more features of the Mail system too, you guys haven't been forgotten either.

Also, I would like to thank Stevo for helping me determine if some of the buttons worked the way I wanted them too. (the username field) In this process he managed to donate another half-dollar to the cause too. (oops!) Anyway, a big thanks to Stevo for clicking every button and checking to see if they had what they needed.

Thanks also to DCS, who noticed that the General Fund donation button was going to the wrong place.

Look up top at the menu butond and you will see the bountie section.
its a way to raise money for software ideas, when a developer wants to
do the project they get the money for that bountie when its complete.

    Just an update folks:

Submission forms are online for all bounties items. Initial work has begun on the Admin interface, in hopes that Acill will be able to do some more of the legwork involved too. I'm not sure if there will be a news block for this or not--but I will keep everyone posted.

The hostage joke will be put to rest shortly, as it will be officially known as "self-bounties". There will be restrictions on those, since we aren't the Salvation Army :-P

Oh yeah, this is a good time to remind everyone that those PegII's are only 799, so get them while they're cheap!

PPS ;) Anyone with art ideas for MorphZone and or the bounties should feel free to contact us.

PPPS: I will be uploading some goodies from our good friend Doctor Morbeus this weekend, so be on the lookout for them! (a download that is particularly of intrest to our Italian users!!!!!!!)

As the X11-Bounty has no Button yet, I've donated
to the general fund some money. Could you move it to
    the right place ?

    @Robin,

Certainly, I would be more than happy to. Due to some time-restraints, it may be this evening before it is visible. On the behalf of everyone interested in the X11 wrapper, "thanks!"

I would also be very interested if someone a little more knowledgable on the subject could help with a write up for this (x11) bounty. (Keep in mind that this bounty will have to have it's sources shared with the AROS team, since the eventual idea is to merge this project with the simular one they are running from their bounties page!)

Updated the amount totals to reflect Robin's contribution. Thank you very much Robin!

Added an X11 Wrapper donation button too. If there is anyone who can help define the X11 Wrapper idea, I would appreciate the help!

Looks great Targhan, I'll see what I can do to make the X11 thing better as well. I am real busy this week and have started going to sea again.

Thanks for all of your support Acill! I wish you luck on your voyages too.

Now for everyone, we've got more donations again and again! The fact that I'm spending so much time trying to keep up with all of this is a very good thing. Not that it keeps me busy, but that it means that the grass roots support really is there. Thanks to everyone, and specifically to the donors: THANKS PAGE

Seriously, with the time I'm having to allocate to this, I would really appreciate a news-hound and someone to help comb the aminet (and the rest of the internet) to locate files and whatnot. Pretty please?

Have finally added the table for the "Self Bounties" -- Please remember that these are really for programmers who cannot take paypal on thier own for some reason or another.

Not to leave anyone out, would it be acceptable to have some listing pages of projects which may have donation buttons for their efforts? (Think about the number of applications where the author would like something donated, but is not all gung ho on this bounty thing..

    @memering

there's no reply because I messed up and didn't put an email field in the "suggest a bounty" form... DOH! :-?

Now, about firewire, I would love to have it, but I think that is a lofty goal at the moment. I've been told that it costs a considerable amount of money just for the documentation required to make a stack (the $10,000 range). What I was hoping is that we could realize a more down to earth goal or two first, before going after anything so lofty as a firewire stack.

But the bounty could make this a more achieveable goal.

Firewire is a must to do video! And video is a tool that sold many Amigas with the Video Toaster and Flyer. It is what is seling Mac to do this job today. To give MorphOS a great market to sell in, we need Firewire.

People need a reason to buy MorphOS other than to run it as a hobby or for old Amiga software. We need to open up markets so I can say to my boss or company that MorphOS on a Pegasos can do THIS for us!

They just won't buy it because it is a cool OS! :-(

What is the harm if I want to put $20 to a bounty for a firewire Stack. If it cost a wee bit this will help defay the cost!!

    Bob Memering :-D

Sadly getting firewire working for video might include having to pay large license fees...

But getting Firewire working for ANYTHING (f.ex. Firewire HD's) is obviously the first (cheap) step.

And maybe this can be set as a bounty if it is not duplicating efforts.
Maybe a USB2 high speed support bounty would also be worth it ?

I just wonder if anyone else than Poseidon author could do that... But of course there wouldn't be anything bad in him getting the bounty :-)

I think the Poseidon 3.0 will support 2.0 standards. Its just been a long time since we have had any news from on its status.

Chris Hodge, Guido Mersman (sp ?) and maybe a few others.
I wish they would communicate a little more here. Maybe we should suggest them to do so.
Private emails work but they are private ... No need to bother them 20 times.

USB2 is good but I have not seen support for it in the video market. Firewire is the standard right now. For video cameras and yes hard drives.

Firewire may have some hidden costs but that is why I feel that it needs a bounty.

    Please consider it!

I would like to add it as a bountie, but lke Targhan said the docs to get it working are not cheap. If you want to add the required $30 to start it then I will talk to targhan and see how he feels about it. I just think it will gain a lot of money in donations and never get accepted.

Does Linux even have support for firewire?

I will put up the $30 to start it out.
You may be right but I feel that someone will be up for the chalenge. We need to try!

Yes Linux does have firewire and Mac and Win, but I want to run MorphOS.

I feel that this is what is happening way too much in the MorphOS community. I can run many OSs on my Peg, but I want to run MorphOS. I feel that we are beingpush to Linux.

I wish the Morph team would make more anoucments! I know that I am preaching to the choir! :-(

I will still support this effort!
