Your OpenGL programming books would be of little help for upgrading an OpenGL implementation. Think of the difference between writing a program in a high-level language and writing a compiler for that high-level language.

    Certainly NOT me...
And what I suggested is actually a pretty massive project.
As to who has the talent to accomplish it, it's not my place to suggest that.

The one and only way to get new developers for morphos is to make morphos more stable and provide support for current industry standards.
    It is simple.
Nobody outside amiga community will write software for os which has not memory protection and posix compatybility.
Future morphos should be amiga gui and graphics on top of unix.

    That crap again?
    POSIX compatibility? Simply stated...NO.
We don't need to bloat up the OS with the crap needed to port Linux software.

And a UNIX, BSD, or Linux kernel?
Again, NO, we already have a unique kernel that has its own advantages.

SO, instead of periodically repeating this mantra, why don't you switch to hosted AROS?
You'll have your Posix compatible kernel, and we won't have to here this suggestion yet again (because it ain't happening).

    It is not the same.
API change to not compatible with old software and still old problems?
    It is stupid.
Future morphos should be amiga gui and graphics on top of unix.

Just the driver problem, as far as I can see.

Just count your blessing that he hasn't started to chime in about the Apollo teams efforts again.
Apparently everything would be cured if only we allow for assimilation.

    @Papi

I saw OWB bounty already assigned to Fab. Can you please explain what is that bounty about, is Fab aware of it, is there any description on that? I'm first to put money on updated OWB but I need to be sure that Fab said he will take the bounty.

I see FreeCiv 2 on the project list. I can't take it myself anytime soon, but I will upload the sources of the 2.4.4 port I made two years ago in case somebody picks it up. "Closed-source open-source" ports are one of my pet peeves.
This is just like television, only you can see much further.

Exactly! He must think that if he repeats himself long enough, and often enough, the rest of us will eventually change our minds and say "Oh yes, Amiga like gui on top of unix is the only way to go, and Apollo Team is the spawn of the devil"!

I really wish this forum had a blocking mechanism, like some other forums have, which would allow us to automatically ignore (and therefore not have to even see), any posts made by selected members. His rants are tiresome to read over and over again, when we all know it isn't going to happen, and he offers no new perspective on the topics he is obsessed with.

The money cans an extra motivation for example to go to dinner our programmers with their wifes and sons, because if you are spend much time with the hobby programming, the family can think that you are losing your time for nothing.

Isn't this true for almost all (chiefly male) hobby activities? ;-)

Fab work on a new version of Odyssey (1.25) based on WebKit r181xxx.
This new version will have functional javascript, HTML5 video features, etc...

He acccepts the bounty but his real problem is to find time...
