I guess it's at least as compatible as the OpenFirmware specification requires it to be. And presumably that may be enough for running MorphOS, which runs (or did run at least) on PPC Mac OpenFirmware, on PowerUP Firmware and on pre-CHRP (PReP style) PowerROM after all.

Do they have CPU modules? Not that it matters, as there are PowerMac "G5 running at 2.5Ghz with Radeon 9600 gfx card" :-)

Yes, it's these. But I'm afraid full support for anything newer than Radeon 9800 may be far far away. Thus hardware with better GPUs than Radeon 9xxx won't do any good to us for the foreseeable future.

ThePlayer and I talked about PowerMac G5, which indeed is available with 2.5 GHz (and faster) and Radeon 9600*, not about iMac G5.

(* And even if this combination didn't exist, replacing the graphics board in a PowerMac wouldn't exactly be rocket science.)

For me it would be enough for the next 3-5 years to replace my aging Peg2 with a PowerMac G4 with 1,67 or more Ghz. With a Radeon 9100 or with some luck 95xx - 9800.
And a Powerbook G4 Port would be awsome.
Then i would sell my PB 12" right away and by a 15" one.

Such thing doesn't exist (at least not without 3rd party upgrade). Fastest PowerMac G4 is 1.42 GHz. 1.67 GHz is the fastest G4 that Apple ever built into a Mac, so there's no "or more Ghz" (without 3rd party upgrade). These fastest G4 Macs are this PowerBook G4 and that PowerBook G4, both with Radeon 9700.

Yes, that would be no problem with a PowerMac, as the graphics board is easily exchangeable.

I know wich GFX Chip is built into the Powerbook.
But i still hope that in the near future MOS will get Drivers for newer Radeon Chips.

Only thing i would really like to see is a cpu module for peg2, that would be awsome
As for the gfx, more support for raedon agp cards would make me happy.
I have a X-1950 Pro HDTV card, that's agp but can't use it on my Peg2

As for the ports, don't care atm, i have peg2 and mos 2.1 and thats all that matters.

There is no "the Powerbook". There are different generations of PowerBook G4 with different GPUs.
