You can simply install AmiSSL v2 and v3.
    Why is v3 not working?
I have MiamiSSL and AmiSSLv2 deactivated in IBrowse.

    With MiamiDX I nearly always get >600 kByte/s. (send/recvspace 75000)
With MOSNet I seldomly get over 200 kByte/s.
What is the trick to speed it up?
I have tried several buffer values with no joy.

I still cannot compile Ambient with the MOSNet usergroup.library.
I have to use Miami for compiling.

as already said you can have AmiSSL1.1, 2.2 and 3.6 in the same dir(assign)

Ruling out AmiSSL1.1 (that btw i don't use it anymore) that was used by AWeb 3.4, install the archives in this order:

Install AmiSSL2.2 and then install AmiSSL 3.6 on top of 2.2.

The new amisslmaster.library 3.6, will take care wich version to run (it act like a proxy/stub library)

Remebber to overwrite all the certificates bundled in 3.6 as well.

    1. What does happen?
    2. Check that you use the recent version.

About AmitTCP: assign: anyone, please run Snoopium and tell me what process accesses AmiTCP:. It's definitely not MOSNet since it doesn't have any AmiTCP: references inside. Probably some broken software assumes AmiTCP: is there...

the only reference i've seen, is a call to genesis.library (not sure if by IBrowse and/or YAM ...i'll check).

What i know for sure is that i have no AmiTCP assign anymore.

Or maybe the user is using inetd from AmiTCP... no clue.

Edit- it is YAM (latest builds) that checks if genesis.library is present but nothing else. (this check was implemented some months ago to check where to find the userID or so)

It doesn't ask for an AmiTCP assign at all. (at least here)

It's obviously some weird issue with AmiSSL v2 and usergroup.library. I'll try to fix it in 1.3.

    Hi

MOSNet works for me nicely but if I want to use
Geek Gadgets tools I get a requester for AmiTCP: assign
    and then a system freeze.

If I assign AmiTCP: before using the command then it
works a bit before freezing the system.

    I'm not using anything complicated, just ls, rm, mv etc;
it would be nice to be able to use gcc again.

    thanks

    @Framiga

    It's a different issue.

    Just to clarify:

    1. Run MOSNet
    2. Run GG command (e.g. ls)
    3. Requester asks for AmiTCP assign
    4. Choose an assign, e.g. GG:
    5. Freeze

    I also tried

    1. Run MOSNet.
    2. Assign AmiTCP: GG:
    3. Run GG command
    4. Partial output, then freeze.

I think anyone should easily be able to duplicate this behaviour.

Thank you all very much for the clarification.
BTW, please tell me versions of your ixemul.library, ixnet.library and usergroup.library.
    This can be caused by:
    1. ixnet.library opening "AmiTCP:Libs/usergroup.library". This means you're probably using m68k version of ixnet.library (strange, why?) MorphOS native version asks for LIBS:usergroup.library.
    2. m68k version of usergroup.library trying to access AmiTCP:devs/netinfo.device and AmiTCP:db directory.
On my system i use MOSNet's usergroup.library and have no problems with GeekGadgets (at least i regularly compile something with gcc).

Just a guess, but maybe you have some weird ixemul version? I guess most of GG stuff use ixemul.

i don't know if someone else got the same problem with MOSnet but i cannot use VNC server on my peg anymore, it's too slow to be usable. I use realVNC viewer on a PC to take control of my peg remotely but it takes 3 mins for a frame to be displayed, needless to say that i can't do anything with it.

    @Sonic

    ixemul.library 49.18 (MOS:Libs)
    ixnet.library 49.18 (MOS:Libs)
    usergroup.library 4.3 (Sys:Libs)

    I didn't find any others.

    > 1. ixnet.library opening "AmiTCP:Libs/usergroup.library".

AmiTCP: assign does not exist (because I get the requester), so I don't think this can happen.

your usergroup.library is of the wrong version (genesis/amitcp/??? version?)
    download the correct version from
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/unmorphos

select files then mosnet and then usergroup.library archive

Of course, but at this point the system asks for AmiTCP:.

Yes. usergroup.library just was not developed and updated. For v1.3 i'll review and re-conceptualize it since excluding it from the main distribution creates significant amount of problems.

The usergroup.library from MOSNet 1.0 solves the problem.

However, the version number on the 4.6 file still reads as 4.3.

    thanks
