This is a shocker! Krashan, you seemed to be going like gangbusters! Oh well, can't blame you for saying it was too much and you want to focus on your family.

Someone will pick up where you left off, I believe!

Krashan had an opposite feeling about this (on another hot-topic), so it was a matter of time to do that.

It's a shame to leave such a big project like ezTCP (that all MorphOS users waiting right now), claiming about personal reasons.

Krashan for me was always pessimistic, so I believed from the beginning that he will never be finish this bounty.

...but I wish from my heart that Krashan has a very nice time with his family and full of health.

P.S.: Now it's time for AmiTCP :)

Hi Krashan ! First thanks for your amazing work :)

You could just drop ezTCP (as it's just begun) but improve a little Reggae once in a while ? This is an extremely important and unique piece of software for MOS, while there are other TCP/IP tasks and there will be one in MOS 1.5.

I would like Krashan to benefit from my donation anyway, to thank him for developing Reggae and maybe improving it once in a while, maybe not right now but later :) (indeed, you asked yourself too much so far :)

(for instance, the http.stream from mosmedia :)

No, this is not a lame excuse. I experienced it myself, it is very difficult to conciliate a family, a work, and such an invading hobby. He must have particularly suffered from it recently, as he's been more involved that never.

Nothing is more unmotivating than announcing something and then refrain to deliver. A lesson to be learned

But Krashan has a point... we are not young anymore...

More and more developers are leaving - could it also be because of the "good" relationship of the main mos-developers to the "others"? Who knows.. some don't care...

Thanks Krashan for your wonderful work... but as posted earlier... why give them up all at once? Reggae would be very nice to evolve from time to time a bit by the master himself!

Well Reggae and TTEngine can be considered as not cancelled definitely, but rather on hold for unknown period of time. What I can be sure now is that I'll have to finish audio resampler class for Reggae (it is needed for my Ph. D. work). Everything beyond this point is not decided yet.

TTEngine project is opensourced, so anyone can continue it.

Of course this doesn't mean that the TCP/IP bounty would be canceled, someone else can pick it (and maybe continue from the old sources)

But of course if no-one else is willing (native AmiTCP will likely come some day anyway), it might be better to move money to other bounties...

Yep, I think the donations we made should benefit either Krashan to thank him for Reggae or to another bounty already taken or the general fund. Personnally I don't believe anyone would have the time to complete an interesting TCP/IP task before MOS 1.5. (Am I over-optimistic ;) ?) - So I'd prefer to reward someone right now over keeping such an amount aside forever - like the amizilla bounty...

I am very sorry to hear this. I had great confidence in your project, your ideas of a lean, mean single user PPC TCP/IP stack, and the features you pictured. However, I just want to say that there are no hard feelings about this, at least not from me. I still hope you will find the time and motivation to make *your* ideas of a TCP/IP stack a reality at some time in the future.

There is still a need for a TCP/IP stack, and there is still a bounty for it. Personally, I still think it will be worth the money I have put in this far, and I will be happy to give them to anyone who releases a good quality and high performance PPC native TCP/IP stack!

Hmm, there has been two major surprises from the MorphOS team in short time. And they both have pay-pal donation buttons attached to them. I see this as an internal policy change. The current TCP/IP bounty is not *totally* neglectable IMHO. Hmm, do one dare to hope for *another* surprise? I would gladly hand over my part of the bounty to the MorphOS teams support account in that case ...

Wow, what a shock. It was moving forward at such a fast pace too. I think now would be a great time for the MOS team to release AmiTCP for MOS.

On a similar vein....would a release of AmiTCP qualify for the ezTCP bounty??? ANyone?

If it worked and has DHCP support it will, I dont see why it wouldnt.
