    Great Job Sonic!

1.2 runs very well here, faster than Miami.

I do have one issue with MOSNet thought, SMBFS does not work. It works under Miami, so I know my scripts are configured properly.

The message I receive is: smbfs failed returncode 10

    Any ideas anyone?

Please tell me your SMBFS version. I'll reproduce and track this down.

For me, mldonkey doesn't work with mosnet (don't recall what it complains about)

BUT if I start f.ex. Genesis prefs, close it and THEN start mosnet, then it works.

Probably Genesis prefs sets "something" that mosnet doesn't. Haven't had time to investigate further about WHAT it does, but this is something that could be tried for other non-working programs aswell.

Something having to do with fucking usergroup.library. Probably MLDonkey relies on current user information. Please tell me what MLDonkey says, it's important.
I don't know how long it will take me to make 1.3 release, but now i'll work out all known usergroup.library issues. Also i am thinking about inetd.

Please, anyone, tell me IBrowse version you use and (if possible) how exatcly i can reproduce AmiTCP: request. I've installed AmiSSL 3 but i don't have this problem. I've tried to start IBrowse as soon as i boot up my machine so as usergroup.library is not present in memory and needs to be loaded. But everything is okay, i don't get this error.

apart that i use IBrowse 2.3 with AmiSSL2.2 (IB doesn't use AmiSSL3) since a life without any error, you can dwn AmiSSL 2.2, from IOSpirit site.

You have to install AmiSSL 2.2 before and (if you want) AmiSSL3 on top (same location/assign)

The new amisslmaster.library works as stub, for AmiSSL2.2 as well

I've been using for ages IBrowse 2.3 with AmiSSL v2 (have also v3 installed but as Framiga stated IB uses v2) and never had needed any AmiTCP: assign so it cannot be this combination that causes a requester to pop up asking for AmiTCP:

Hmmm... Okay, let's put on hold then... I'll reintegrate usergroup.library, rework it for better operation and add inetd. This would eliminate the need to use m68k AmiTCP components. Let's look at what will happen then...

I am using AmiSSL v3 with IBrowse.
    Why are you using v2?

you (as all) are using in IBrowse Preferences>Security "SSL v3 support" of AmiSSL2.2.

AmiSSL3.x is a newer package used (AFAIK) by YAM 2.5dev and the latest AWeb.

    Hello Sonic,

I just install MOSNet 1.2 on my Peggy and it works very well ;-)

But I want to install gw3s, a web server. And there, problems come.

I must put this line in inetd.conf, but there is no inetd.conf in MOSnet :
http stream tcp dos bin - c:rx gw3s:w3s.rx

Can I launch it without inetd or I must wait ? ;)

Thank you for all and I hope to see a new version of MOSNet in the future (near ?).

I don't know if g3ws works in standalone mode. As to inetd, you can try to take it from m68k AmiTCP. In v1.3 i'll make a native one, i've switched the priority.

    Good evening all,

Let me tell you a little story that did happend to me in march or april. An evening while I was online and surfing on the net MiamiDeluxe detected that an intrusion/hack by ping flood was peforming over/through my internet connexion. By a little cli windows whith details about this intrusion/hack it alerted me immediatly and I suppose that it did the necessary to impeach that action to peform anymore.

So, Sonic my question is, what is it about the security versus these kinds of attacks/intrusions/hacks in MOSNet please ? How does it detect and protect internet connexions from them ?

    take alook at "MosNET:db/inet.access".
You should setup to "deny" the access to the offending/s IP (or IPs ranges)

    @Framiga:

nice to know that but I'm guess he was asking how he would detect these accesses. It's nice to know how to block them, but it would be nicer to be able to detect them.

    Hello,

Framiga, you have certainly more knowldeges than I have about network, but why do you answer instead of the person I asked the question to please ? Sonic is the author of MOSNet, he certainly controls better than any other person his subject so let him answer first.

    Brumiga,

what's the point of posting on a forum if you only expect sonic's answer and reject pedantically any other one ? May i suggest mail then ?

    Framiga,

    better laugh. :)

Current security level of MOSNet corresponds to the security level of FreeBSD 2.0.5. Yes, it's also outdated, but i beleive this is nearly the same as Miami. Of course if we speak about the security, a next update should be performed. But sorry, i definitely have to time to do this.

    Hi Sonic,

That's probaly the reason, that i can't go to my E-mail account at http://www.hotmail.com
MiamiDX and IBrowse 2.3, i can read my E-mails at hotmail.com
I like MOSNet more and more, it's fast and good. MiamiDX causes more CPU overload.
