So many questions about the release of MorphOS 2...

How big a bounty would it take to get answers to:

    Current thinking on cost?
    Cost of multiple installs?
    Current feature set?
    Current issues affecting release?

    And, yes folks, I'm serious.

    Oh man

MOS team you see what we are reduced to? BOUNTIES for Feature Sets. That is a first! Worse than Microsoft. Comon slackers lets get the feature set out please!

Seriously though, the MOS guys are working hard to get this release out, but the lack of information hurts them in ways they dont get apparently..

Dont know if they are hurting themselves in anyway, I just dont really understand the reason behind not telling full featureset what to expect. There is no more competition, OS4 final was released and thats it, no earth was shaken and the situation is just as bad as with us: no suitable hardware(which could explain partly why MOS2 isnt out yet, the other being that its just not done yet).

On the other hand, isnt it great that you will discover all that stuff by yourself without knowing of them, when its finally released? Meaning, isnt that big part of the funfactor to find what has been added, changed or how things work?

it's funny to see that even the most hardcore MOS fans are loosing patience from what I can read here and hear on IRC.
You should better set bounty to pay a proper MOSteam spokesman cause they said may times that time to speak is wasted time that could be used for coding.

What a ridiculous explanation. Are they dumb?
Is a lot of time required to post a html or txt here?
    hahahaha
Don?t they speak any word at the end of the day
cause they don't leave the keyboard?. I suppose there
must be some GOOD reason for not making publicity of
MOS2.0.- In fact, the only ones who have said some about it are BBRV.
Anyway, morphOS comunity coders are always making a fantastic job. Let them code happily.

If you want to be informed about Reggae new features, and future developments (Reggae is a part of MOS 2.0 anyway), you can visit this page.

Afaik, you are wrong. That "final" isn't really final. OS4 is still in development.

So what? Did you also insist that Windows XP is not "final" when it was released, just because they kept updating it (SP1/SP2) and released fixes and enhancements?

Probably partly becouse most items are what MOS2.0 is EXPECTED to have (just like you said) instead of "is guaranteed to have" (what most people seem to think "expected to have" means)

Nice to see a number of different points of view.

So, money talks. If a bounty was established and it got up to a respectable figure, perhaps it would change a few minds of the stubbornly silent. This exercise could also give our devs a better idea of just how many people are watching and waiting. It's too bad these guys are so disciplined because it'd also be interesting to find out how big they think their product is.

    So its.. pre-final? :-)

Seriously, OS4 is now "final", and it wont turn into something hugely different in next update. Also, as I said there is no hardware to sell it to so Hyperion/Amiga Inc are basicly f_ucked. Almost the same applies also to MorphOS-team, except they dont have any legal battles about their OS and can do whatever they want with it.

Well, in an ideal world... Actually, the only OS I can think of that attempts to unite all interested parties and keep everyone in the loop is Haiku. But still, curiosity is a powerful thing.

I don't think money is the key here. MOS Team, have already stated they are not doing this for money, so I don't think a bounty will change their mind.

My personal opinion is simply this: MOS up until this point has been free. I have not paid a cent towards development and nobody (least of all anyone from the MOS team) has made me any promises. I am greatful for whatever updates/information whenever they're made available and respect their choice to keep MOS 2 somewhat in the dark.

Now, once I *PAY* the proposed new cost of MOS2 (poll suggests approx. $50?) THEN I will expect more information/release-dates/feature lists/promt bug-fixes/etc/etc :-)

this might be something the MOS should consider before actually charging for MOS. I'm happy to pay for MOS 2 but once you decide to charge; it becomes a PRODUCT and we will expect certain things in return. Of course, I think from most of us there will always be the understanding that the MOS-Team is small and underfunded (even with our $50 MOS 2 payments) but there will still be justified demands for more information/prompt bug fixes, etc

When I say "for the money", I mean taking substantial amounts of money xD. I don't think MOS Team will be able to subsist with what they get from MOS purchases xD.

In the other hand, getting some money back from a job done, it's not a bad thing...

That's an interesting view on the public status of MorphOS Arkanoid. One of the things that is known is that MOS2 will cost so somebody there wants some money. A communication bounty would allow that to happen well before they have anything to sell and, I would imagine, bounty money in the right hands could only help things along.
