I want everyones idea of a bountie to have a chance. I dont want to see hundreds just start posting that will never have a chance or risk people just posting one for the fun of it. What do you think the first donation to a bountie should be to qualify it as being on the page? Feel free to talk about this as well. I want to hear all your ideas.

I voted $50. Even a simple bounty would at least be a few hours of work. A small minimum will generate a lots of bounties that will never be taken by any developers. People should better put $50 on something they really want.

I feel the exact same here. If the starting bountie is to small, all we will get it a bunch of worthless bounties. The system wont work well if we have so many we cant get anyone to take them on.

I voted for "other" since I think any bounty needs to be reviewed; whether the donator puts money up or not. A "good idea" and a write up is far more valuable to the site's goals than another $50 for me to keep up with. (and we haven't even set up the EU donation system just yet)

Oh yeah, thanks to Genesi for another 100$ donation to the general fund!! Which means we have a decent amount to start out with in the general fund to support some of those "good idea" type bounties. And, we need rules for THOSE TOO.

Good idea Targhan, I agree fully. We are working on the rules ang guide for the site. cdfr is now helping me with that. He has soem fantastic ideas and seems to know a lot about this. It will be done soon and posted to get some feelings on it. If everyone like it then we will use them.

I voted 40$ but, i would say it depends on what type of bounty it is for a simpel SDL port 30$ would be enough and for other things 200$ and more $$$$ are needed! And in eastern Europe 50$ are much money. I think to start a bounty the first donation should depend on what the bounty is for, for very simple things it should start from 30$ and on other things it should start with 50$.

I voted $50 - It's not a great deal of money anyway, and if the bounty creator doesn't feel his idea is worth even that little, then don't bother.
