    Hi there,

I work with my new PowerBook G4 now. At first I worked on my PowerMac G5, but it is quite big and I don't have too much space in my flat. That's why I want to donate it to MorphOS project!

    It's a PowerMac G5 Dual-Core 2,5 GhZ with Radeon dual-head card, a fast 10000 rpm HDD and afaik 2 GB of RAM.

Do you want it? :-) And if yes, where can I send it? Or can I bring it somewhere - on a demoparty or to a retro computer meeting?

    Greetings,
    André

Man, that's the spirit! I hope some skilled developer will step in and claim it for a good use. The specs are truly stunning.

    CountRaven, I've read your message.

CountRaven want to use the G5 for greece Amiga platforms and magazines.

I make that message public because I want to be sure that

    a) the demand by CountRaven is official
    b) there are no MorphOS developers who are in need of the system because they have priority in my eyes

Otherwise, if there is no other need, I'm okay with sending the system to .gr

Yes, it's a bit sad to be preempted by someone who already has 8 machines... :S

That's also why I declined your generous offer, despite this G5 is a dream machine... and I only have an I Book G4. ;)

Ideally this G5 would be best fit into the hands of an Amiga developer without a MorphOS machine already...

    Just my 2 cents.

Yes. please wait. Im sure if this gets out for a bit longer a good developer in need will offer to take it.

I will copy and paste my entire message in Public, to make others notice that my main goal is a special hardware review on my printed magazine.

In addition to this Amigaplanet.gr is the only site, along with our brother amiga.gr site offering information, news, reviews and threads about MorphOS on Greek language.

Amigaplanet.gr has its root to GMC forum a forum about Greek MorphOS community I created ages ago.

So yes, I am not a developer, but I support as much as I can the os ad its community.

G5s are rare and still very expensive in Greece.

I am after a g5 since ages, someone offered one and I replied.

If there is a developer that needs this, I can understand case and I would step aside.

    ........

    Hello Sir

My name is Chris Papadakis, I am from Greece.

    Owner of amigaplanet.gr site.

If I pay postage plus a small extra for your time spending to pack it, would you send it to Greece?

I am not a developer but I am a dedicated Morphos user. Testing it on all my systems.

I also publish the printed magazine Retro Planet. It is focused on Amiga and other computer systems. I want to write a g5 special on one of my next issues, if I find a machine. Issue comes out on June 2014.

I agree with Acill... I'm sure a developer will chime in eventually.

As you are from München I think it would be worthwhile to ask on some German news/forum site whether there is a developer in demand of a machine. Delivery would be easy and quick. Maybe on amiga-news.de or pegasosforum.de
Just a thought: Does Stunzi have a powerful MorphOS machine? He's still in Munich (if not abroad with his mountain bike). Dunno if he's still interested and active in MorphOS development though...

I want to thank Andre for the machine. On the September issue of my printed Retro Planet Magazine -issue no5- there will be a special article with lots of tests for MorphOS running under G5. Time to spread the word of MorphOS a little more!
