    Hi after backing up my morphos installation to an external drive.
    Formating the internal hard disc, and copying back again i have the os running great.
    All work like before but know i can't snapshot icons or windows, everytime i change the icon view when i close and open a window again i have "list view" and "all files" selected.
    Somebody know how to fix this ?.

    :D

    I hope you did it to external drive with Amiga/MorphOS filesystem, not to PC formatted drive. And copied so that all protection bits etc were preserved.

    Anyway, do you have disk.info file on the root of partition you're trying to snapshot? Or if you're trying to snapshot some other drawer, does it have .info file? Do those files have W (write) protection bit set so that changes can be written?

    Do you have real icons for your HD-partitions (not the default)? If you backup on a external drive, I'm sure you have'nt done a backup of the disk.info-files too! This is not done automaticaly ....in MOS you have to do that manualy, because you cannot copy a complete partition by pulling the partition-icon to the backup-drive (like in AOS) - you can only copy the subdirs (with their .info-file).....

    Oh - jpv was quicker....

    You just open the partition and select all the files (in all file mode of course), and then you copy that. Works just the same as a manual copy.

    Ok know i reinstalled re partition and reformated using the morphos 3.3 cd and now have 2 partitions, system and work on system is all ok snapshot windows icons etc.
    But on work i canot snapshot windows the same issue.
    The partition don't have a disk.info on the root folder. Also i have disabled browser mode on ambient. But in this partition when i open a folder it open on the same window like i was on browser mode but only on this disk.

    @Fab: Ok, but only works in list-mode. In icon-mode disk.info is'nt copied....

    @soviet: ......The partition don't have a disk.info on the root folder....

    Click with right MB on the icon of the Work-partition and choose 'Information'. Then pull another icon (e.g. that one from the System-partion) over the Icon-pic in the information-window. Then save it and you have an icon for your work-partition.

    Or 2nd way:

    Type in shell: copy system:disk.info to work:

    For future, try to format your partitions with activated option "Create icon".........
