Sure, and it has some other improvements under the hood. But from reading the usual media one may get the impression that the new icons and the new position for the spotlight function are the major improvements.

Does anyone know why airdrop isn't availble for ipad 3? What more can really be required from the HW to use such a feature other than wifi/bluetooth?

EDIT: It seems it has something to do with only later devices have dual channel WiFi? Which obviously is required?
