Is vsync functional in mplayer?

I am getting chunky video at times when double-sizing youtube videos.

MPlayer doesn't care about the source of a video file. Unless another config file is specified, it always uses the default one.

This sounds like a problem with overlay.

I am going to chalk this one up to the previous discussion where it was stated that in such large resolutions like I use 1920x1080 that overlay mode won't necessarily work.
