    I have waited till the MOS 3.2 update to actually give RTCW a try.
    I inserted the platinum edition, it installs both CDs then keeps saying it is updating but the hard drive doesn't have any activity.
    Did the MOS 3.2 update break it?
    I will be letting it run all night but I don't think it will do anything.
    :-(

    I'm running the same version and had to manually install the data files myself.

    How do you manually install the update?
    Thats all that will not go in.

    I must have not seen your posting correctly. The update worked fine for me, it just failed at loading the data off CD2. I would try to completely remove it all and run the installer again.

    Can somebody post a screengrab with the correct structure of the drawers inside RTCW after manual copy from the CDs?

    A quick method I used to install RTCW:

    - download RTCW archive, extract where you want considering that once finished it will fit almost 750 MB of disk space;
    - open the "main directory (select "show all files" to display it);
    - copy in the aforementioned dir "mp_pak0.pk3", "pak0.pk3" and sp_pak1.pk3. Those are the only files you will need to play the game;
    - start the Installer that will download and install the upgrade;
    - double click to SinglePlayer icon to play the game.

    I've just tried this procedure on MDD and PMac G5 and all went ok. No need to insert any cd (I dismounted dvd unit in my G5...) since I copied the pk files on usb pen drive. The files I used are taken from platinum edition so I don't know if pk files are the same.

    Hey man, thanks for posting this and sorry for late reply, been away for a while. Regretfully, I can't see anything due to low resolution (image looks blur) :( Can you please repost a more detailed screengrab? Thanks

    I could sure, but all you need to do is pull the main dir off the CD and install all the pak files into it as shown.

    I've been sitting on a copy of this for awhile.
    Maybe I'll give it a try.

    Real simple, just run the installer and when it can't finish , then copy all of the .pak files from both cds into the rtcw/main/ directory and it will run.
    I am running on a G5 2.3ghz with ati 9600 card.
    Runs ok. Nothing fantastic.
    Wondering what an SSD will do for this G5.

    P.S. This mac G5 is the shit.
    This is EXACTLY what I was looking for when I wanted to replace Windows with another OS/hardware combo.
    OWB finally scrolls super smooth. I cannot even get my Powerbook G4 17" to work this nicely.

    Crate a public screen for OWB and uncheck "Enhanced Display". Your Powerbook will be ultra-smooth when browing now.

    I finally gave RTCW a try tonight and it runs pretty ok on the G5/2.3Ghz/R9600 setup. It's not ultra smooth but is playable, pretty nice. I'll try it on my G4 setups later.
