    Classic Apps
    3D gaming

Hope some of you can come along it should be a great show :-) please respond with any tips/ideas for the stall.

Great news, glad someone will be showing MorphOS3.2 at the Vintage Computer Fair in Great Britain.

If you ask Trevor Dickinson nicely (he will also be at that show), he might let you borrow his G4 PowerBook for part of your demonstration as well as your two systems that are planned. Having a laptop system, and/or a G5 PowerMac would be great for people to see, so if you can find anyone local to the show's location that can bring either of those types of systems, I think you will satisfy the curiosity of more show attendee's, since the G5 PowerMac tower and G4 PowerBook are the two most popular and interesting MorphOS systems at the moment.

Again, great news that you will be doing this, and don't think that I am trying to tell you what you should show, or do during the show, these are just my own suggestions. I have had great success in showing MorphOS at the previous 5 AmiWest Shows in Sacramento, CA each October, and I am planning on showing it again this year, as well as trying to attend and show MorphOS3.2 at the upcoming CommVEx show in Las Vegas in July.

I took the plunge and brought a A1047 G5 powermac off ebay. I needed a new mac anyway so I will be able to set it up with dual booting. Borrowing Trevors laptop will look good as well (if I get him some sweets). Is the speed difference very noticeable from G4 1.42ghz to G5 2ghz? Its dual core but morphos is not multi core yet I think.

Congrats on finding and purchasing a supported G5 PowerMac computer system. If it is the 2.0GHz model, you won't have to worry about checking for coolant leaks, like the 2.5GHz and 2.7GHz models.

The supported models of G4 PowerBook's are either 1.5GHz, or 1.67GHz, not 1.42GHz. I believe the G4 iBook is now supported, but have not looked at which models are included in the support provided by MorphOS3.2. Also, I have not paid any attention to any benchmark comparisons of MorphOS3.2 while run on any G5 CPU, when compared to the fastest results previously posted using any of the G4 CPU Mac models.

Looking forward to your report after the computer fair is over.

I think they can also be 1.0 GHz, 1.25 GHz or 1.33 GHz.

    All.
They work well, but the build qualityis not that great.
    Pretty good battery life though.
    And dirt cheap.

Then that would be a change from the original release of MorphOS3.0 that I am unaware of.

Although I still check this forum site, and a couple of the Amiga forum sites almost every day, my involvement and interest level in all things Amiga/MorphOS/AROS, has declined greatly over the last 9 months. Hopefully this will change before I decide to sell the whole lot of it and then end up regretting that choice later and trying to buy a lot of my collection back again like so many other Amiga users have done over the years.

You can sell sell all morphos machines, buy Sam440 and wait forever for yet another speedup patch :)

How comes? I think at least with MorphOS situation is quite pleasant now. OS really stable and feature rich, lots of hardware, quite some good applications. Could be worse.

Indeed. Support for older models has been introduced with MorphOS 3.2. See there:

I doubt that an X1000 owner has much need for a Sam440, be it with or without "speedup patch" :-)

I can't make it, but I can donate a registered dual 1.42 G4 powermac for demonstration if anyone from the UK cheshire Liverpool/Manchester area wants to pick it up from me and take it there?
