I also do not remember if that was default. It is possible that some time ago I have unconsciously messed with these settings and forgotten.
I have harddisks on the desktop, but have hidden that panel with shortcuts to applications. It is very nice that all these facilities are customizable.
By Workbench, I precisely meant the possibility of freely laying out the icons inside a drawer. Perhaps it is possible and I'm not aware of that?
Because the "Browser mode" can be turned off, so that's probably the only missing feature of OS3.0.
