I got another question, I have an external CD-writer/reader that works fine on my Mac Mini, but it doesn't even boot up or shows any sign that it has power on my Powerbook. Any ideas?

Powerbook USB ports don't deliver much power, try with a powered usb hub or with a split Y usb cable.

Should have thought about that. The CD player has two USB connectors for times like this. I inserted both and violá, it works :-)
