    Yep, I`ve just been saving a stack for a long time - specifically to get a killer MorphOS Powerbook for my girlfriend (and secretly for me too :o).

    The stack is now quite large :D

    I`m loving doing what I`m doing so no need for thanks (though they`re welcome) - I`ve been waiting for this for a long time.

    No need for thanks?
    I disagree, this will make our platform more attractive.

    First Beta is released, but only for OS4.

    Unfortunately, I have no idea how to compile the sources for other platforms than AmigaOS4. If you feel like you know enough about how to compile these sources please get in touch with me. I am looking for MorphOS, MacOSX PPC, Linux PPC versions especially, but any other supported platforms are welcome. (Thunder? Tobias? Mike? :)

    This is great news indeed, though sadly it's mainly going to be good for Games, and Graphics related programs as when ever I have ever tried to use WinUAE for OCtaMED, it always played the audio samples about a second after the trigger had triggered them.

    Well, they did say BETA.
    Nice to see another wish list item from Fraggle coming together.
    Since adopting my 933 MHz Quicksilver, I have upgraded to a system that is about 130% faster.
    At this point, my MorphOS system is marginally more powerful than my X64 system (and once both are upgraded, they will be at about parity).
    That, and this development, will make running the OS even cooler.

    MorphOS at 2.5 GHz, it just makes me grin.

    redrumloa,

    Let us know how it goes as I don't see any speed up on G5.

    Edit: I've checked on my 2.7 G5 - with Fab's EUAE.G5 I'm getting about 1.8 of A4000 speed with sysinfo, with this Jit Euae it's only 0.2 so the same speed as regular one. Also I've noted that it doesn't really like to work with directories as hard drive.

    I used the beta and edited my config file as in the readme, i booted Classic Workbench 3.1 and launched some AGA demos such as TBL - Ocean Machine, and there was a significant speed-up! Very noticeable and things ran much smoother, good work! :)

    Nice work!
    Though no luck to made him to work here...
    But hey, that's a beta and I did a really quick tries!
    Well, tomorrow I will enjoy this more.
    Keep calm and try again!!
    P.S. Inside the Read Me file there is a configuration option called "enable_jit=yes". Using it but it shows a "unknown config entry" message. Is it normal?

    Are you sure you are using euae jit as there is no output for me at all..

    EDIT: I got 68 mips with sysinfo on my PB 1.67 with clean system. On my G5 (With Fab's G5 euae) I'm getting 35 mips. Holding a breath for fixed version of 1st beta for G5's

    Line #5 unknown config entry 'enable_jit=yes' is trange though the jit led blinks showing jit is enabled and working. No way to make something work. The only way is to use more than 16384 for cachesize so to have an error and jit won't work. Workbench will be loaded but no way to use floppy.

    from configuration.txt
    enable_jit=<boolean>
    if TRUE, use JIT compiling when it is possible.

    from README
    enable_jit=yes

    which version is correct?

    Real weird and.. I'm on G5. I will try later on MDD

    @Norbi:
    I tried with TRUE too but it doesn't work and prompt shows the same message. I tried command 'uae -h' and no enable_jit is showed inside all options.

    On my G5 2.3 it will load workbench from HD (only when the cachesize is set to16384, lower will crash quit EUAE while booting, higher stops the JIT from working)... only to crash quit when clicking on a drive icon. Shame :-)

    Its a first beta and I understand that, but it seems very slow and unstable. Id say its more of an alpha. Im running it on a 1GHZ MDD with a radeon 9800 XT.

    Looking forward to the progress on this one! I use Amikit on my Mac a lot for now with very fast speeds. It would be nice to get all my Amiga stuff done on just the MOS side.

    I have tested the config as it is written in the readme file.
    Z3 mem crashes immediatly. Only clean WB 3.1 without gfx card starts.
    Typing commands is impossible because every letter repeats until
    You Typ another one. Well at least the jit light flickers.
    It seems we have to wait for the next beta.
