My PC died on me, so while I am pondering options, this is your chance to convince me to find an old mac on craigs list and buy MOS.

    My computer needs are:

    Basic intarwebs, email, some youtube.
Need some access to word processing that can do PDF files and open office (google docs?)
Can anyone confirm if OWB works with google's blogger and google + ? (the latter isn't a big deal)

    Basic media/music player of course.

So tell me why I should rock MOS for a while as my only "modern" computer, rather than fix my PC right away.
Amiga 1200 and G4 MDD MOS as my main computers.

    1. Yup, we've got this aplenty. Could have probs with mail though (no HTML in YAM, limited in SimpleMail, no IMAP support in mailers).
    2. Google Docs will do just fine (but it's not a tool for a hundred-paged book) there may be problems with uploading your stuff to it. Can be easily solved by mailing them to your gmail account).
    3. Should work just fine. Not tested toroughly. Need confirmation.
    4. Jukebox/AmiNetRadio/MPlayer/ShowGirls it is.

Upload in google docs works just fine, btw, unless google managed to break it again.

I think the MOS "Amiga" community would be disappointed with you as a user. It's like serving fine wine to someone who wouldn't appreciate it. Stay in the cave and fix the old PC. :-D

While I prefer POP I tested IMAP with Simplemail a few versions ago (my university changed to IMPAP exclusively - stupid idea!!). It worked okay, but each launch indexing took quite some time.
You can say IMAP works, but if you can have a POP account, better use that.

Just get a mac mini at a decent price ($150/100€) and do some test with the 30mn demo.

Try to do your daily and usual task for some days. If you think MorphOS fits your need, purchase a key at 79.€.

    That's under 200€ investement.

You can get under 100€ line with getting some next to free PowerMac G4 MDD. Might need some effort to find but still, can be a real bargain.

    Hey Magnetic :-)
I guess it was bound to happen. Gonna do it all the way too, no other machine available at least for a while. Hopefully for a long time but ill need some linux fix eventually.

The machine i will end up with is 1.2 ghz (dual core but that wont matter for MOS) with 64 megs video RAM so I feel pretty good about that.

Don't worry about that. Just spent about $150 in shipping for three MDD towers. Each one being about $45 to ship each tower. Gotta pay to play. Besides, I will have two full MOS towers along with spare parts for each tower. :) MUCH better than a $800+ PPC 604e Amiga cpu that is slower than a snail. :-D
