    Hello

I need some help. My PowerBook doesnt have a working DVD drive, so I try to install from USB stick.

Ive tried many variations, but always ends at boot.img which doesnt find morphos.iso, even they are on same partition on my USB stick.

Ive created 2 partitions on my stick. First is HFS, second is SFS. But still no luck.

Here is my boot parameters that I've tried to use:

    boot usb1/disk@1:,\boot.img bootloader=System2:morphos.iso

    boot usb1/disk@1:,\boot.img bi=momo:morphos.iso

    boot usb1/disk@1:,\boot.img bi=umsd0:morphos.iso

But none of these works. It just ends at the same place:
    DO-QUIESCE finished_

Can someone help? I cant use the DVD really. So I just dont want to move my HD to my mini and do it there. Hope so...

Is OS X already on it? If so you can use Disk Utility to create a bootable USB drive.

    1. Wait for MorphOS 3.1
    2. Prepare a disk with a MBR and a FAT32 partition.
    3. Put there MorphOS.iso and boot.img.
    4. boot usb1/disk@1:,\boot.img bi=umsd0:morphos.iso

I have a different way. Working with macmini
    I used a description from http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20060301112336384

Start Morphos from ISO (pendrive FAT)
    - prepare a disk with a MBR and FAT32 partition
    - copy ISO MorphOS and boot.img
    - boot usb1/disk@1:,\boot.img bi=usbscsi0:morphos.iso

    Start Morphos from pendrive FAT
    - copy all files from ISO MorphOS to pendrive FAT
    - boot usb1/disk@1:,\\boot.img bd=usbscsi0

Of course, you must first check the OF and recognizes your flash drive (usb0/disk@1 usb1/disk@1) and MorphOS in bootmenu (usbscsi0 or usbscsi1)

    So, what you say?

Have both MorphOS.iso and content of MorphOS.iso on this FAT partition?

What FAT32 filesystem should I choose in HDwizard program? Should this partition be bootable?

Will try this when I get back home from work!

I think, PowerMac Computer can't boot from USB. It can only boot from Firewire, internal CD / DVD and HDD.

OK.. Ive got MorphOS running actually... without CD-ROM. I have to boot from OF all the time, but when Ive found
out that, I will create a guide on howto install MorphOS on PowerBook without working Superdrive

Another thing you can do if you have access to a Mac or Linux box, you can format the USB drive as FAT and if comfortable with the command line use dd to copy the MorphOS ISO to the USB. That's how I did it on my PowerMac even though I do have a DVD drive. A habit I've picked up using Macbook Pros with a secondary hard drive in the Superdrive bay.

Is Apple's implementation of Open Firmware (particularly on G4 powerbooks) capable of listing partitions and files on a disk?

The 'help' command doesn't seem to do anything useful - is there a command reference or user guide for Open Firmware on Apple computers?
PPC assembly ain't so bad... ;)
