It is a well known fact that the majority of the remaining Amiga users and probably over 90% of the MorphOS users live in the EU, and the UK, with many living in countries where English is not the primary language, so there are many websites that are written in German, French, Italian, Polish, Russian and other languages.
My question to the members here who live in those countries and know of many Amiga and MorphOS (AROS too) websites in languages other than English as the sites primary language, how many of those sites provide their pages in English translation, or provide some kind of translation tools which visitors can use to translate the sites pages into English, or the language of their choice?
Can we make a list of Amiga or MorphOS, or AROS related websites in this thread that can grow over time, which have translated pages, or translation tools? The reason for this thread and for the list of websites that offer translated pages, or translation tools is because I am sure there are many English only speaking, reading, writing users like myself who would like to read and participate more in many of these websites from countries where more action is happening in the Amiga, or MorphOS communities. I know that there are translation tools available online, like Babelfish and others, but I hoped we could make a list of sites that provide their own translated pages, or tools for translation, even if they are only scripts that take advantage of other online translation websites by linking to those other third party websites, or scripts that copy parts of their own sites into sites like Babelfish, to provide rudimentary translation of portions of their site.
I will start the list with its first site:
1. http://www.amiga-news.de/(en/)
From what I have seen so far, this site provides good translation into English of most, or all of its webpages.
An example of a site that falsely makes it look like it provides translated pages, or translation tools for members, or visitors to use to view the site contents in English is:
AmiForce - http://www.amiforce.de/main.php
I just signed up as a member on that site because I saw that it provides English and German language buttons, but unfortunately the work has not completed to provide its English translation of even the sites menu, or tab items into English, but on some of the pages for that site when you click on the English translation button, it moves you to its home page, instead of translating the current page into English. I guess it is a good example of a site that should NOT be included in this list.
If you know of any German, French, Italian, Polish, Russian, websites, or websites in other languages than what I have just listed, and they also provide a good translation of their webpages into English, or they provide good translation tools into any language of your choice, please add these sites to this list by quoting only the sentence above with the number 1 and the website of "http://www.amiga-news.de/(en/)" and then add a number 2. and your recommended web address url. if you have more than one to recommend, then add as many new numbers as needed before each website entry, so we get a running list of recommended websites in each successive posting to this thread.
Thanks for participating in this thread, if you decide to do so.
