    Hi there,

Forgive me for being a total and absolute novice.

I attached a large empty USB HD on my mac mini Morphos 2.7. It shows up as 0 bytes free space available. Is that normal?

I tried formatting it, but it's taking forever... It actually didn't finish. We had a power loss mid-way through. :-P

Hey Fester nice to see you active with your system. About your issue, you may need a bit more info
for example - size, type, poseidon's logs ect. I'm not an expert, but I've had my issues. I would paste a link, to one of my threads, but I would have to reboot
since there is a bug exclusive to my system which prevents me to copy, paste, back space, or highlight when I use a game emulation, so since I'm downloading
currently, search the forums for Re: 1TB USB HD in any event search through if noone else answers.

NTFS Its read only at MorphOS => 0 Bytes free to write.

    Thanks for your advice everyone.

    - It was NTFS formatted when I added it to my Morphos system.
    - I tried the quick format, but it wouldn't let me do that.
    - It's a 500 GB drive, so the normal format was going for days.

I just thought it would be nice to be able to backup Morphos. Since I'm not very experienced with this os, I want to back it up before I mangle it completely.

    I'll try again.

Have you changed the filesystem with HD Config before formatting? I suggest to use the same filesystem as your internal hdd.
If you decide generally for a rdb disk layout keep in mind, that rdb disks are not readable with Win (or are there tools for that available?).
