Did not find an introduction forum so put here anyway.

My name is Steve Jones and some may remember me from my Checkmate Digital and Siamese System days and I am a bit of an Aros supporter, however, what I really am is a MASSIVE Amiga fan. I have A1000, 3000, 4000, CD32, obviously iMica's and now the proud owner of a 1.25ghz eMac with at the moment an unregistered copy of MorphOS 2.5, soon to be registered after some driver work paid for.

Why am I here, well have heard all about MorphOS especially from Trevor Dickinson who kept showing me how cool it is so I thought being able to get an eMac for only ?8 why not give MorphOS a go.

Have to say that it is very nice and comfortable for an Amiga user to just jump straight in and is very smooth and fast. Also whilst a lot of my Amiga 68k apps do not run normally, (not tried UAE yet), the ones that do have shown me that MorphOS is Awesome the way they just appear as native naturally. TVPaint on MOS is probably the best I have seen it. I will be going through my collection and seeing which works and which does not.

Now do not expect me deserting Aros as that will not happen but I want to help spread the word about Amiga and MorphOS is a wonderful version. I would like to do a video later showing my experience and hopefully my mention of it in BBC Click show will help us all.

Anyway sorry for waffling, and thanks to those that help me get set up and I hope I can contribute a little to this great platform.

    Steve

Welcome Mr. Jones! The Siamese System... I still have copies of AmigaFormat and CU Amiga with its review. I'm happy you enjoy MorphOS too, and want to tell you that talking about it to outsiders is the best thing you can do: MorphOS biggest lack is public recognition.

By the way, could you explain your avatar photo?

My avatar seems to bug some people :-) but I light heartedly think that people are like characters in Winnie the Pooh and I am apparently more like Tigger than the others.

So when I was on holiday with my family a few years ago my kids wanted to be face painted one night but were too shy so I had mine done as well and all were happy. Baring in mind it was at an evening show people either though I was an Ass or a good dad.

Basically I am emotion and passion driven and quite happy kind of guy most of the time.

As for promotion, I was always pretty good at getting people excited about computers and I have just started this again with completion of first stage of iMica. Remember my passion is Amiga's generally and not specific.

I am going to Essen next month as well so may see some people there.

Oh yeah! Siamese - what a great peece of software.....!! Unfortunately the developement was stopped long time ago - but where could it be today? [dream on] Maybe a fully transparent integration of an (PCI?) X86-Processorboard as alien-CPU in MOS.....? Starting Win-Progs directly from MOS....? Use drivers only available for Win transparent in MOS? No need for a second PC..... [dream off]
    Peg2, 3xPowerMac G5, 2xPowerbookG4, 2x MacMiniG4, Efika (again), A3000T and life is never boring.....
