    Hi all...

Trance is cool and make old 68k applications fly... this can be a stupid idea, but... if trance will emulate cias can we run applications like hippoplayer, pre octamed soundstudio?... allways under ahi of course.

Nope. Music players depending on CIA chips are hitting Paula directly.

Is that the same problem with PC-Task?
    (it became freeware recently)

It asks for ciaa & ciab.resource and does not run on Peg2/MorphOS.

I see no point of running PCTask on MorphOS while we have DosBox or Bochs.

An 68k-app "JITing" x86-opcodes to 68k-opcodes and all that running under an 68k_2_PPC-JIT ?

    Sounds like plan

Probably. And as long as it is trying to hit HW directly it is not going to run on MorphOS (except on PowerUp Amigas).

But using hippoplayer with AHI.device dont need paula chip, same for the jeckel post about pctask, using rtg graphics, ECS or AGA isnt in use.

Just curiosity, my knowledge about it is crap.

HippoPlayer with AHI only players could be usable but PCTask is probably using CIA chip registers directly. But instead of HippoPlayer it could be better have UADE with GUI frontend... there are only few AHI players in HippoPlayer and AHI MOD player in HippoPlayer is relatively poor.

But yeah, HippoPlayer was my favorite :)
