    Greetings all!

Many years ago a close friend called me over to his home one afternoon and showed me the awesomeness that was the Amiga 500. I was totally blown away, as I'm sure most of you were when you got to experience an Amiga for the first time.

Anyhow, after many, many years I would like to get "back" into Amiga. :) I've been contemplating buying an "old-new" Amiga 1200 and getting back into old school computing. One the other hand, I've got a G4 Mac Mini laying about collecting dust and I thought of buying a copy of MorphOS instead.

This is where I need some advice! So, I'd would love to get a little nostalgic and play some old Amiga 500/1200 games, yet I also want get back into developing on the old platform (I'm a Linux Engineer/Developer by trade and want to see what I can "do" on the Amiga with by extra years of experience). I've read that MorphOS has a JIT compiler that supports these 68k apps, does it do this well with all the old Amiga apps, games, music, modelers, etc.?

Whereas I would love a 1200 on my desk, perhaps sticking with the G4 Mac Mini and MorphOS would be the answer.

    What say you? :)

    Cheers!

Most OS friendly applications and games will run. Everything that's banging the Amiga custom chips directly won't run.

    Welcome!
Most of AmigaOS 68k games aren't OS friendly. You can run these games almost directly with UAE though :). Most of useful programs are MorphOS native, but still there are some nice 68k ones which work great under MorphOS. I suggest you to visit the MorphOS library :).
