Hi guys,
This my little help for MorphOS team for new incoming MorphOS 2.x for PowerMac G4
I have recived in these days some interesting graphic cards AGP flashed for Mac OSX 10.3.x, 10.4.x, 10.5.x and OS9.2.x ... and now I have found all needed to proceed in the right flashing.
I have used a new Sapphire ATI Radeon 9250 AGP 256Mb 128bit, flashed it and verified it in PowerMac Quicksilver G4@867 and in PowerMac G4 MDD Dual G4@1420.
details, what yout need:
1) This new card : http://www1.sapphiretech.com/en/products/graphics_specifications.php?gpid=59
2) flash it with this ROM http://themacelite.wikidot.com/local--files/wikidownloads2/R9250_127_reduced.rom.zip in a x86 PC.
3) http://themacelite.wikidot.com/pins-3-and-11 (with scotch for exemple for Quicksilver and MDD PowerMac G4)
4) http://themacelite.wikidot.com/9250-trick (resistor mod is needed)
5) driver http://strangedogs.wikispaces.com/file/detail/ati-aug2005-radeon-universal-rom-update.dmg.zip for OSX version (tested OK 10.3.x Panther, 10.4.x Tiger and 10.5.x Leopard) and here the driver for OS9.2.x http://www.applemacanix.com/9200os9/9200os9.sit
All perfectly OK, I use now all Macintosh screenmode with OSX 10.5.x, 10.4.x and 10.3.x and OS9.2.2
All other is ok (es. Open Firmware APPLE+ALT+O+F and boot screen mode Macintosh for bootstrap OS) all It's promoted correctly in DVI and also in VGA output connector.
(Only "little problem" at the moment is that with the driver "ati-aug2005-radeon-universal-rom-update.dmg.zip" the graphic card 9250 256Mb is seen in OSX Apple System Profiler as Ati Radeon 9200 and with 128Mb, not 256Mb, (also the same with OS9.2.x driver/extension)but I think with the right driver MorphOS you could be use in the future also the 256Mb in MorphOS).
I hope these informations can help you a little in the porting of MorphOS in PowerMac G4 and if you need I can try something (I have many of these cards here to test)
