Great link, but out of date, so its usefulness is very limited.
I know, or think that the AmigaOS and MorphOS communities have suffered greatly over the last 5 years and we are only a shadow of what we were 10 to 15 years ago.
The approx. 700 licenses for MorphOS2.x since 2.0 was released, what less than 2 years ago, is a sad reflection on the number of users we have (plus the number of other MorphOS1.4 users that were unwilling to pay for the OS).
I don't know numbers for AmigaOS4.1, but there seem to be more of them, at least that is my impression. Maybe they are just more vocal and active on forums than the MorphOS users. But, like I wrote in another thread, the activity level here does seem to be increasing (even not counting my own rambling scores of posts) over what it was when I first got my Efika about 16 months ago.
So, Itix says about 1500 active users and another 1500 inactive users. I would say his estimate of active users is a little higher than what I would think if we are only talking about users that are active on forums, like here, amiga.org, amigaworld.net, amigans.net, eab and a few other sites, but since I only really keep a close watch on three of those, maybe he is right. Inactive users I would guess are higher than his estimate, or at least I hope so. It would be a sad state of affairs to think that out of the once millions of Amiga users, we have been reduced to only 3,000 Worldwide and half of them are not really active.
MorphOS - The best Next Gen Amiga choice.
