    In case you are interested to help use to track down this issue you can download a debug binary from this page. Please follow the instructions, run WookieChat as usual and provide your log on that bug report page.

    The link points to the bug tracker on sf.net, specifically to the bug mk reported. I must admit that sf.net's page layout may be a bit confusing depending on the browser you are using. CSS capable browsers will "fold" the page to safe space. Just click on "attached files" to unfold that section.

    Alternatively you may use this direct link to download the debug version.

    Extract that archive and replace your codesets.library with the debug version, but make sure to keep a working version of codesets.library. After a reboot enter this "setenv codesets.library.debug @all all" in a shell. Furthermore you'll need to have a tool like Sashimi running to capture the log. Personally I use something like this "run sashimi on noprompt timeron >logfile".

    Finally start WookieChat, let it crash, then stop sashimi and add the log file (preferrably as an archive) to the bug report page. Maximum file size is 256K. Larger files can also be sent to me directly. But we preferr the bug tracker to let more than just one person read the log.

    Sorry, no. The log is there, but like mk's log it doesn't contain any useful information. It just an incomplete log (the beginning is missing) about some activity of codesets.library and some warnings of MUI. But the essential crash information is missing. If MorphOS handles crashes differently than OS3 and OS4 do, then please ask someone else to teach you how to get the usual kprintf() stuff *and* the crash informations into *one* file. I cannot tell you, because I don't use MorphOS.

    Furthermore you opened up a *new* bug report instead of adding to the one already opened by mk. And even worse, you did it anonymously, like mk did before. No offence, but this means that other developers are not able to ask any questions regarding this bug, because there is nobody to send a mail to. And not everybody is skimming through the various fora to look for possible questions and bug reports.

    To sum it up: you log is of no use, sorry. All it proofs is that MUI complains about some possible layout problems and that codesets.library does not suffer from any problem. No function is failing randomly or even causing crashes. If you had a crash or some hits the log definitely shows no sign of these.

    @all

    New binaries are available on the bugtracker page. These should at least prevent concurring applications from screwing up the log. There are no further functional differences.

    Please go ahead as before and try to produce a log which contains both, codesets' debug output *and* the hits/crash log. A log without either the one or the other is useless and does not help.

    If also mk can confirm that WookieChat 2.12b9 and codesets 6.9 work as expected then I will close the bug.

    Hi guys,

    please let me hijack this thread for another problem I encountered using Wookiechat: I cannot paste anything into it's input field (e.g. interesting URLs). Somewhere in the internet I read about using an older version of bettersring.mcc would solve the problem - but which one? And besides that - wouldn't it be best to solve the problem within Wookiechat? I can paste whatever I want into OWBs input field without problem, so the problem does not seem to be keyboard-related.

    And maybe someone has a solution for the other problem: clicking a URL in Wookiechat leads to a new OWB task being started instead of opening a new tab inside the existing instance of OWB. How do I set this right the settings of Wookiechat correctly?
