I purchased a morphos.key for use with morphos 2.0 on my efika. It worked fine with 2.1 & 2.2 but since updating to 2.4 I'm now getting unregistered MorphOS timeouts.

I copied the key back to the sys:devs/morphos.key after the new installation.

Should the morphos.key work with 2.4?

On the Efika? yes. On a macMini you may have sitting about, no.

sometimes the Mac address changes or something, but it shouldn't do that..

My Efika did that, so I changed the battery. Everything's fine now ;-)

Unfortunatly the battery in Efika handles the clock and the MAC adress. In addition to that the chip sucks a battery empty in around a year depending on the use of the Efika.

Changing the battery is the only way to fix this. The best way is to remove the battery and use (turn off/on) the system until you get registered. Then insert the battery (with care) while the system is still turned on. Otherwise you may store the wrong address and the key will not work until the battery gets empty again.

Just turn the system of and on until MorphOs states you are registered and then insert the battery.
