    Hey! I'm mid-30s, thanks! ;-)

    I'm not even 30 yet (later this year) but I have to confess I am a bloke.
    I was a mere 12 when I got my first Amiga 500. Where the hell did all those years go?? :-o

    Kickstart: There are few shops selling user Amiga 1200 which is a little bit older than MacMini G4. I was reading opinions about MacMini and there were no complaints at all in relation to hardware.

    Comparing to AOS 4.1, Morphos seems to be a little bit in hiding. Take a look how easy (when the hw is available ;) is to get for example Sam with AOS 4.1. That would be nice to see a few Minimorph machines in Amiga related shop..

    But to sell those maschines it does not necessarily need the "Amen" by the MorphOS-Team. A reseller just can pick up used Minis, install the MorphOS demo on it and sell it. The user may register the version him/herself. Just like resellers do with Efikas.

    @Cammy,

    Besides Amiga game programming/art/music/animation, what is your profession to earn an income (if you don't mind telling)?

    @jmarcos,

    I am only 30 something (in my mind anyway, the 50+ body disagrees from time to time) :lol:

    @pampers,

    I think it is a great idea for a few Amiga dealers to offer used MacMini's with MorphOS demo already installed. I hope that some of them will take your advice. It would be a good chance for them to make a good profit if they can find several G4 MacMini's at a low price. The buyers of them would have almost no way to know what the Amiga dealers paid for the used hardware, or what profit was being made from the sale.

    If I remember correctly, someone here was putting Efika's into some nice cases and selling them with the demo version of MorphOS pre-installed, so I see no difference in doing it with the G4 MacMini's.

    As I have said before more than once, I think the release of MorphOS on the G4 MacMini will increase the usage of MorphOS by many currently non-MorphOS users and will be one of the most significant releases of MorphOS since it was first released on the Pegasos years ago and perhaps even more significant to the MorphOS community than the release of version 2.0 was.

    Myself, I am hoping it will bring back some of the users that have left, plus bring in new users that have never before owned a MorphOS computer. It would be great if we could get a few more programmers to join us MorphOS users so we could get some additional native MorphOS software created over the next few years.

    I am not expecting a huge change, just some increase in interest and usage and hopefully a few new apps.

    The one down side of any Amiga dealers buying and then reselling G4 MacMini computers with the Demo version of MorphOS pre-installed would be they would be hesitant to offer any kind of warranty on them. But then you don't get any warranty from buying a used MacMini from anywhere else that I know of, so nothing is really lost by getting one from an Amiga dealer without a warranty.

    Congrats kriz!

    Did you get it at a good price I hope? I think I paid too much for my 1.5GHz G4 MacMini, but I was tired of bidding on other auctions and losing and having to look for the 1.5GHz model I wanted. I did not pay very much over what I thought was a good price, maybe $50 over what I wanted to spend on it.

    I can't wait for the MorphOS for MacMini release to come. It is going to be such a big jump upward from my Efika, performance wise.

    How much RAM did you get with yours?

    Again, congrats on finding a 1.5GHz model.

    I guess I should update the list somewhere back in the 347+ postings in this thread to see how many people have their MacMini's and are waiting for the MorphOS release (but I am too lazy to do it today).

    Hi,
    I'm a new incoming user of MorphOS :-)
    I have bought four Mac mini powerpc G4@1500, three for MorphOS :-).
    Which is the date, Semptember ?.

    A question also: in a configuration with MorphOS, OSX Leopard and Linux in internal hard disk, the boot loader need an internel hard disk in GUID partition table Apple Macintosh powerpc or MBR or RDB ?.

    Apple Partition Map is used, I don't think Open Firmware on Macs can handle anything else.

    You can remove me from the list.

    I got bored with MacOS X Tiger within a week and sold my Mac mini a couple of months ago. I've been a Linux user for more than 12 years now and selling my two Pegasos II computers earlier this year made me realise I don't miss MorphOS/AmigaOS at all. My very old (tweaked and tuned) Debian box/laptop is just as fast as MorphOS.ever will be and I can do everything I can imagine with it. I still play around with my old Amiga's but that's just it, playing around and nothing more. It's time to move on, it's been a fun ride though!

    Peace...

    hi Golem

    I think the same.
    Is possible in MorphOS 2.4 read and write HFS+ Apple filesystem partitions ?.
    and
    Is possible in OSX 10.4.x and 10.5.x read and write MorphOS filesystem partitions ? (if yes in witch way ?).
    Or we need a FAT or FAT32 filesystem partition to transfer the fie between MorphOS and OSX ?.

    Then just do what I am doing with that G4 MacMini of yours and use it only for a media player, get a remote for it. Then sit back and relax until MorphOS for the MacMini is released in the next few months.

    I think the team must be getting close to being finished, or at least completed enough to release. They can always make additional features and bug fixes later. I want a release in time for me to show it at the AmiWest 2009 show in the middle of October.

    If it can't be released by then, I just wish they would at least show us another video of how much progress has been made. I could be satisfied for a little while with showing that video at AmiWest 2009, but would much rather be showing a full release for them and promoting sales for them during the show.

    We can only continue to wait and hope for news.

    Well, I think that it will be released this year still holds true :)
    Unfortunately, with the release of 2.3 many USB issues still showed up which we expected to have fixed and which didnt actually show up in our release candidate testing .....
    Actually, the mac mini core driver components are ready for quite a while now (except wifi & bluetooth - which I wouldnt really consider core, anyway) and we have a closed beta tester group for quite some time as well.

    While you posted things like this several times on pegasosforum.de I guess it is the first "official confirmation" for a release witin 2009 on an international forum (maybe A. Wolf will know better ;-) ). It is nice to see that the team recently communicates more again (at least in my recognition). Keep it going... :-)

    MorphOS betatesters? It's the first time I hear about such a group! Who do I have to kill in order to be part of it? How's your relation with the MorphOS Team?
