    Eh, ClassicPPC?

Wouldnt count it. Neither MorphOS 2 or OS 4.1 run on it and those machines are very old, extremely rare and slow.

Perhaps I will consider parting from one of my Pegs, a Pegasos2 G3. Mint condition, hardly ever used. At least when MorphOS is released for Mac Mini... ;-)

Won't happen. The last e600 CPU's are the 7448, 8641/8640 and 8610, and neither of them reaches that clock frequency. I doubt more will follow.

We are talking about a different issue here, you're talking about how old hardware is and he and I are talking about software. Quote, "you can run the 2 nextgen amiga OSes!!!!", which I believe means MorphOS and AmigaOS4, and both of these are available for ClassicPPC.

There are so few MorphOS or OS4 users with old Amigas that I find it just marginal. Yeah, Pegasos II is not the only HW which can run both OSes, you are correct on that.

    Itix is right.
I was talking about a non real amiga hw(with real I mean classic). So the only real nextgen Amiga is Pegasos, the only machine in which you can run nextgen AmigaOSes. ROFTL!!!!!
    So PEGASOS=AMIGA!!!
    So teh world may know!!!

Would love to see some of those old flames.. just for the record...

After all MorphOS is not just an OS.. there is a spirit behind it.. a true underground and pure creative spirit... No companies behind.. jus dedicaded people who spend there entire lifes -or at least a big part of- for the dream called MorphOS.

Amiga spirit used to be that way a long time ago....

What next? AOS5 for the blue HW? (well, to me MOS is AOS5, kind of)

    Then both balls are blue!

    The hell has frozen.

Oh damn. All those Amiga apps I wrote years ago, I must've been out of my mind. Surely as a MorphOS developer I couldn't possibly have had any amiga spirit back then, nor can I have any today either!

Or maybe someone is just trolling. I wonder which it is.

OMG! I didnt read all the b.s. trolling but have you'all thought of this...

Remember all those flame wars about the Pegasos not being an Amiga but the A1 was and it was because OS4 ran on it? Well, lookie here...

The Pegasos IS AN AMIGA AFTERALL!! LOLOL

Anyway, still waiting on MorphOS for the Mac Mini. I'm willing to buy and beta test.

I guess he's not necessarily refering to Freescale but rather to AMCC's (still not released) Titan.

Wow, henes, that's pretty strong stuff. You feeling threatened?

well, i have to admit that even before this announcement i was sadly noticing that most dynamics and enthusiasm has been shown from the OS4 camp lately. The release of MorphOS 2.x didn't bring back so much enthusiasm, most interesting things in terms of new software came from morphOS team members of affiliates but independant mos coders seems to keep sleeping (or left?), MOS 2.0 didn't unlock all the software that was announced (burnit, etc) and delayed because of morphos2. There's a bit of disappointment about it, even if i still think MorphOS 2.2 is far beyond OS4.1 in terms of use, pleasure, and technically.

Hyperion is back with quite an agressive "we want to be everywhere" policy, now invading the MorphOS dedicated hardware. And i wouldn't be surprised to see a Mac OS4 port being released shortly before or after the MorphOS mac port. So yes, good reasons to feel "threatened", even if i personally think it's a good opportunity to see how the two OSes behave on the SAME hardware.

Oh and the fastest AmigaOne is now ...a Pegasos.

SoundSquare, there is a greater quantity of enthusiastic people at that web forum that is popular with OS4 crowd, I'll agree with that part. That's just how it's been.

    Slight OT, but related:

Based on post #27 and moderator's conclusion in post #36:
    here

There is presently a [poll] being conducted:
    Quote:

Would you buy OS4.x for your Peg-1 machine?

    here

This is a xoops [poll] which is for AW members only.
If you are a member, please consider participating.

It might be helpful if someone here on MorphZone could accumulate some results for those folks who are not members of AW.

    Thank you.

That's nothing.. his avatar is an ugly troll here, but he's got nicer looking av on other sites..

ps: I'd rather see MorphOS on a G4 mac laptop than an A1. You can take that around to show people and not haul some giant bug case. ;-)

Only about 600 Pegasos 1 was ever made (and they exist in various versions with April 1, April 2 and no April at all). I have one of them and perhaps you could throw in a "no" vote for me, since I'm not a user of that site?

I think it would make better sense of them to port it to the Efika and Mac Mini...

The Efika is still in stock, and while a bit limited when it comes to RAM, CPU power and expansion options, it's very cheap! And easily available! :-)

Yes. I understand that, but thanks for the confirmation. I have "some" numbers on how that breaks down.

Happy to do it. The only reason I suggested collecting more info along those lines outside of this thread was to avoid too much OT for those discussing Peg II.

Efika port was explained by others on AW in terms of SAM already filling the low end/entry level.

Low end/entry level when it comes to the Efika class performance perhaps... but at the price of a high end Quad Core G5 Power Station! And the Sam seems to be as difficult to get ahold on as second hand Pegasos2's...

Heh. I'm not arguing choices made or policy, just trying to give you brief answers so you don't have to wade through 100s of posts and [polls] at AW.
