been a hwile since i posted and i have a question for u....as soon as the peg2 motherboards come out i am getting a pegasos and i have a question....can someone who has never used and amiga but has used windows, linux, beos, and DOS be able ot just turn and the computer and know his way around or would i have to do some serious reading as to how to use the operating system.....and for the programs are there installers like in windows? or at least have the same userfriendlyness? well post back. see ya

It should be easy to get started with the basic functions and run a
few apps/games. There will certainly be a slight learning curve, but
after you interact with the system it really becomes second nature.
Most software comes with an installer or many can be simply copied
anywhere without an installation phase. I think the SuperBundle
should appeal to new users since it gives you several tested
applications with installers "right out of the box". A person can
always ask for help on MorphZone, several mailing lists or IRC. Many
faqs are being built too. :)

I have used win, linux, mac, amiga, beos etc.
The most logical OS in my experience was
amiga and now morphos has only improved upon
that experience.
Morphos feels smoother, faster and has common
sense functionality. Very quick to use with
some practise. Has a very friendly feel compared
to other OS's.

Presently, there are a few difficulties. The most important probably
being that there are some things not still included (like TCP/IP)
which will be a pain to fix for anyone not familiar with Amiga
software. But I certainly hope this is fixed before Peg2 is shipped.

Apart from that, I don't think there should be too many problems.

thanks it has all been very insiteful i can't wait to get my peggy and start programing apps......i know there is smooen working on porting java to amiga 4.0 but is anyone one working on getting it to morphos? well if not thats my goal when i get mine.......i just hope that genesi will release a ful line of specs on the gegasos 2.

I believe someone is working to get Java on MorphOS. Our friendly neighborhood webmaster2 (gsarff) is considering whether or not to port Squeak to MorphOS.
