I just noticed the latest obligement news at morphos-news.de and read 'bout a TVPaint tutorial. Though I mostly use Photoshop these days for my gfx work, as old TVPaint user I thought: "let's check it out".
So I did that.
The tutorial is 'bout creating 'a gem'. Which I found quite interesting and even learned a new trick todo things/ effects here. So I wondered who did this tutorial and followed the link to the authors website and found a 'gem' which I didn't expected to find.

The site has a large section full of very nice TVPaint tutorials. Even if you don't speak french (like me) they are still very easy to understand because of lots of helpful screenshots.
So if you ever wondered how to do things with TVPaint, but were always distracted by TVPaints oldish GUI'n'Look then try out this tutorials. I think you'll get very quickly a feeling for what you can do with TVPaint, which is still a very powerfull application for it's age and probably the best available for the MorphOS platform. Sure it lacks some stuff (no multiple undo can be very annoying f.ex.), but seeing the art/ works of artists like Arnaud I think it's probably not that old yet. ;)
Besides there are also some quite nice MorphOS wallpapers in another section on his page.

(btw., to make MorphOS icons: 1. draw the icon 2. cut it out as brush 3. save brush as "TIFF RGB+A", the brush should be 64x64 pixels in size, 4. load it in ShowGirls (if you have a proper TIFF datatype installed) and save it as PNG with alpha or use the alphatools (see morphos-news.de software database) to convert them (just use .info instead .png suffix). 5. Done
