Hey there,
First of all: welcome to our community
MorphOS is still being developed. Recently we had
* An update to 1.4.5
* The release of MorphOS 1.4.5 for classic amigas with ppc accelerators
* The release of updated 3d drivers (being followed by a port of Quake III shortly after that)
To quote Piru, A MorphOS core developer: "MorphOS is far from dead"
The lack of TCP/IP stack can be seen as a (major) drawback, but on the other hand: MorphOS 1.5 already has one integrated, someone is developing a TCP/IP stack as part of the MorphZone bounty program (and released version 0.10 beta today) and you can always use your "old" TCP/IP stacks from the amiga (Genesis, MiamiDX, etc.)
Apart from that, MorphOS lacks everything else that the amiga platform lacks; Open Office (though we have an office package in the form of Papyrus), Firefox (or any descent/modern browser, though a port of KHTML is in progress) etc. Keep in mind though that the Pegasos II is A) bugfree, still being actively developed (as platform) and available atm (while A1's aren't) and B) runs and is supported by a whole bunch of Linux distro's (it comes with various flavours pre-installed in the ODW form). You could always run Linux if you need a specific piece of sofware not found on MorphOS.
Hope this answers your question to some extend; feel free to post any other question concerning MorphOS/Pegasos!
