The CPU fan stopped spinning and melted the plastic holders and flopped the hint sink onto my video card. (One bad thing about silent case is I can't hear the fan!)

I have let things cool down and tried to boot with the heat sink held to the cpu. I pulled all cards except video.

I tested my video card in my pc and it works fine.

    As it stands now:

    1. The nic lights are on.
    2. The hard drives fire up fine.
    3. The monitor turns on but with no video.

Can you guys give me some pointers to diagnose this.

    If it's my cpu than can I get a faster replacement, I had a g4 1gig.

    Regards,

    Matt

I can't help but wonder when replacement parts become more expensive than finally making a decent fail-safe passive heatsink I try to advocate for two years now. ;-)

I wish I would have known that this was such a poorly designed heat sink. I would of gladly replaced it.
