Anyone know if there is a manual or tutorial on-line for HD-Rec anywhere?

    Thanks,
    Robert

Here is the web site, hope that helps. If not, write the author, I've been meaning to do so my self as he had posted a few months back about releasing version 2. Then making the project open source...

....needless to say, I've not seen version 2 since then.

Really? I think he's been talking about releasing v1.0 for a while. So far, no v1.0 released.

HD-Rec has been made open source in December 2009:

Sorry, wrong number, but ya the point is that he was talking about a new release a while back, and then that was followed up by silence. As for contacting him, I can't find an E-mail adress on his main page, so I guess the only way to get in touch is to sign up for a Source Forge account?

It would really REALLY be a shame to see this software just vanish.

Why not contact him via his amiga.org account?
