So what you are saying is that the source code is not on the linux version CD-ROM?

I would think not if the game is a closed source game. If it were on the CD then you could find it on the net as well, which you cant.

    Hi,

    I have the linux CD.
The game source is not on the cd.
The game was released by Loki for Linux but the game is not open source.

The game runs nicely on x86 Linux.
Loki released an executeable for PowerPC as well. (for download)
Unfortunately the PPC version segfaults on my Pegasos/Debian install.

As far as I know Loki used SDL for all there Linux games.

IHMO porting Heroes to MOS is a good idea.
But I think you should contact 3DO first an ask for the rights.
If someone asks the Loki people nicely, maybe they will release the sources.
As Loki is belly up and their games is not really sold anymore,
they could release the sources without suffering financial looses.

    Cheers
    Gunnar

BTW: I you need to *borrow* my CD for testing please tell me

yes they could release the source as the company that originaly made that game went chapter 11 and no longer exists (3DO) ubisoft owns the rights to the heroes seies but has no intention on continuing development. as for what it was coded in it was ported to SDL and openGL from its directX dependancies, so it is rather portable. for the most part

    @BigGun

Thanks, I wanted to verify that there was no source code on the CD.
