The reported issue is mainly about reading CDDA tracks and ejecting the disc. It was confirmed by others
some years ago. If you don't encounter this problem, then some investigation as to what's different with your setup could be insightful.
It read more like a general issue for him to use USB DVD, so I gave my statement that I can use it. But for audio tracks, yes, I get read write errors all the time. Not useable to play any song from CD or DVD.
