Nope, if the Radeon has two seperate physical ram banks (128MB each), chances are that it will work. Mine it's this way and is seen as 256MB on a Sawtooth G4 AGP (9800 XT or Pro can't remember - flashed). I bought it from US especially for this reason about a decade or so ago.
