I don’t think MorphOS can exist anyplace that isn’t „desktop“ and x86 has been constantly declared near death since at least 1990.

Outside of Apple nothing ARM is competitive on the desktop and even that comes with some caveats.
In laptops it isn’t that different only that Apple has a clear lead. Anything Apple Silicon is far to closed to be a valid option.

Everything else is really more a matter of different release cycles then actually being much better.

MorphOS doesn't need a desktop solution any more than a laptop. As such, a Raspberry Pi is a lightweight, economical, inexpensive and energy-efficient desktop solution. Since MorphOS is a lightweight OS, it would be a perfect fit.

Performance-wise, let's not kid ourselves, whether it's AmigaOS, MorphOS or AROS, Amiga-based solutions are nothing more than hobbies for their users. Few users have specific needs for significant power. A Raspberry Pi 3B+ already does as well as a PowerMac G5. A Pi 4 would give us a moderate gain, and a Pi 5 a significant gain. For basic uses (surfing with Wayfarer which is perfectly fine, emails with IRIS which is perfectly fine, Youtube with Wayfarer, video playback with MPlayer, light office work with online tools, development for fun, a few emulators, a few older games, a bit of graphic editing), a Pi 5 would do the trick given the lightness of MorphOS. No need for a "competition PC" for all that.

Concerning the availability of the hardware, I much prefer a Pi 4 or a Pi 5 that is frozen and easily found second-hand or new, rather than running around with the motherboard, the graphics card, the compatible wifi card, etc... Especially on PC hardware with various revisions and that will be manufactured for a shorter time.

For drivers on Pi, between the Open Source graphics driver and the hardware documentation, it should be feasible. Not without effort, OK, but feasible. Less advanced OS like RiscOS have been successfully ported to Raspberry Pi.

Afterwards, this debate is sterile anyway. The MorphOS Team will make its choices according to what suits them best, according to the resources they have and their wishes. And as enthusiasts, they will follow us! :-)
