You can adjust the monitor to whatever scan range your monitor will except. for example I use a Voodoo 3000 agp, the system default for the monitor setting is 31khz. In order to use the higher screen modes I had to adjust the settings for the monitors to match my Radius precision/17.
I used 64khz which is very close to the range of my monitor. Now I can display 1024x768 @ 16bit @ 75hz.

    Bigfoot maintains the V drivers.
Email / msg / irc him about it if you can't wait the next MorphOS release.
    <update>
He already corrected the drivers so the V5 is recognized as a V5 and work properlys (with 1 cpu supported for now).
    </update>

Welcome to the club! The V5500 is faster than V4 in MOS its just that the dual 3d chips arent supported atm.. Let us know how that card performs for you...

    Many Thanks, katos1

A Tip back edit your actual Monitorsetting with the
Test-Button, and set the pixelclock carefully up, with the result - 1024x768@85Hz at any Bit-Depth.

Repeat be carefully!!! You can real damage your
    Monitor.

Read your Monitor-Handbook look for the min- and
max-frequencies in horizontal and vertikal, and im-
portend the pixelclock. Load the 64kHz-Monitor and
edit the matched frequence-settings with your data. Now use the Test-Button, set up the
pixelclock, and press ok if ok. Please note the
Test-Button must pressed again on the same
Resolution, to become the real refresh-result.
Sometimes you set up your Hz-refresh to better
result with any corruption of your screen.

It seems you use the standard-settings, for me this
is not enough. I worked one on these damn monitor-
settings, with the result of 1280x960@72Hz.

    My work-resolution is 1152x864 at 80Hz.

    Repeat be carefully!!!

    Best wishes

    Raoul.

    Thanks for the tip,cdrf

if i had the time, i will try to contact him.

It seems there are problems with the memory-addressing on the v5 used with v4-Monitor.

This output was detected with showcgxconfig.
The second TMU of Voodoo5 is addressed with
gigantic 262MB, no what this memory is, yes right
the great DDR-memory on the mainboard. This is
bad very bad, and i try to contact the genesi-team,
the memory-missmanagement begin in the SmartFirmware, detected with ls /pci.

Let you know if any changes or fixes come around.

    Best wishes

    Raoul.

    Thanks Raoul,

Good info, I just got my hands on a voodoo 5500,
but I havent tried it yet. when you checked the memory
usage on the card, Is it using 262meg of Memory?
does this show as used when you check the systems memory?
Let me know, before I try this card as all my system has
is 256meg DDR, I am sure this would be bad.

    Thanks again,

    katos1

Are you guys signed up for the Beta2 Morphos mailing list? This is a good resource for you and a perfect place for this kind of question.

    thanks katos1,

the error was not reported from showcgxconfig, in
this tool you will see the wrong pci-id for your V5.

the memory-error was reported from c:openpciinfo.

the tool pciscan, reports the right Information!

i think it was i nice place to contact PegasOS-Users, and talk all about that this machine.

    I hav'nt any reply from vesalia-techsupport.
I'll send you a message if they answer me.

    Have you testet warp3d-demo Engine? It's a
real Benchmark my result is 800x600x16bit 135 FPS.

    Best wishes, Raoul.
